nose: 2 on same side (tiny, tiny studs)

2. Do you have any tattoos? If so, how many and what are they?
Yes, one; my own design I drew when I was 18.

7. Do you meditate on a regular basis?
No, but it sounds nice. Does anyone's mind sit that still for that long? Not mine.

8. How many languages do you speak fluently?
Once I would have said two (English and Danish), but I've gotten too rusty to claim Danish anymore.

9. And how many languages do you know a smattering of?
If a smattering can be truly small (a few sentences/words, enough to understand people but not enough to feel confident speaking) then perhaps four?

I'm too squeamish to do my nose, Camille, but I do have two piercings in each ear. I adore your answer to #4. The Amazon stuff helps because I wondah, wondah... :)

Scary, if you haven't worn earrings in 7 years, chances are the holes have grown over. I wouldn't mind having a small Celtic knot tat like yours; that might not hurt too bad. Yes, Monster Speak absolutely counts as a language.:)

Serena said...

If we're ever going to do that girly road trip, Leelee, I think we need tats. And if we end up in Mexico, you do the talking. About all I know is si, por favor.:-)

I feel like such a maroon, Kan. I was reading fast from work and totally missed the Beatles reference. NOW I see it.:)

Charles, how on earth do you speak that binary language? I can turn my computer on; after that, it's pretty much hit or miss.:)

Unknown said...

You scare me Charles. You really know binary? The joke to mine was simple- I don't know binary -D.

rkfinnell said...

1. My ears are pierced. I don't own any earrings anymore.

2. No tattoos

Charles said...

You cheated Kan, I did it manually.
The 'H's were uppercase BTW.
Your's was S Overbar elipsis blank.

Unknown said...

Now I am scared of you for certain. You manually type binary? And of course I cheat...I'm an American! Victory over method =P

Charles said...

...SpU0blank would be the 7bit ASCII interpretation.
BlankR|blank, blank for 7bit missing the leading zeroes.

Charles said...

What's to be afraid of? I'm mostly harmless. I don't believe in killing (on my part.) And I only live a little over 5 hours from you.

Serena said...

Geez, Charles & Kan. Me no speak that language. How do I know you two aren't plotting to steal my ruby slippers?:-)

Roxan, you do pretty well with the Gaelic for only speaking a smattering. Have you ever been tempted to get a tiny Irish tattoo of some kind?

rkfinnell said...

Yes I have, but pain hurts. LOL

ThatGreenyFlower said...

1. Are your ears pierced? If so, with how many piercings? 2 left, 1 right.

2. Do you have any tattoos? If so, how many and what are they? No, but if I had one it would be Max in his wolf suit. In fact, I might just go get that done now.

3. Do you believe in love at first sight? Love? --no. Lust? --yes.

4. Can you explain in one word why you blog? Wordorrhea.

5. Is it ungodly hot where you live? If it is, is it making you as languorous (and cranky) as it is me? Yes, it is. No languor, only pissiness.

6. Who do you think wrote The Book of Love? Do you mean the version that reads the best, or the version that's most true? If it's the latter, it was my husband.

7. Do you meditate on a regular basis? I am far, far to wiggly to meditate.

8. How many languages do you speak fluently? Only this one.

9. And how many languages do you know a smattering of? Three--Japanese, Czech, and Evinglovish.

ThatGreenyFlower said...

I am 30% selfish. But that doesn't change the facts that it's still hot and I'm still pissy. I'm just not selfish about it.

Charles said...

I wouldn't go that far for a $2.99 pair of ruby slippers, and I saw Wizard of Oz. I know once you put those things on, they don't come off easily. Besides, they wouldn't match a single thing I have. They're more suited to Princesses.

Charles said...

Of course you realize I can only speak for myself, SJ. Although Kan and I haven't spoke of it, I cannot say what plans he may have made outside of my earshot. As far as I know, he has always been outside of my earshot. I'd better stop saying my earshot, before I get my earshot.

5. No. I go elsewhere to agonize over the heat.
6. I'm waiting for the movie actually.
7. I don't do anything regularly.
8. Just English...I'm lazy.
9. Having now travelled to 40 countries...I have picked up a grand total of.....none. Still lazy.

2. 3. Welsh dragon, rampant; life size tiger moth; and my pentacle ring that I lost in Blackburn Lake.

3. Yes.

4. Sure.

5. Yup and yup. And now I have a cold in the heat.

6. Hee hee. I thought you asked who wrote the Love Boat....

7. No.

8. One.

9. French through school and into college, and I was able to give directions to the movie theatre to a German tourist who spoke better French than English. I can count to 10 in Spanish, and understand most things said by children under the age of 5.

But you're no pushover. If something is important to you, you'll get it!

Serena said...

Kan, what is haha sex?:-)

Pain hurts, Roxan, but sometimes it's a matter of no pain, no gain. The first time I got my ears pierced, it was by a teenage friend with a needle and an ice cube. Hurt like hell, but I sure was proud of my new earrings. LOL.

Greeny, I'll make a pact with you. If you go get that tattoo, I'll get one, too. Not the wolf, but ... something.:) I've been too wiggly (and hot) lately to meditate, too. I can tell the difference in myself. I don't like it. Re #6, it's open to interpretation, but I do wondah, wondah, who wrote the book of love. She-bop. Do-wop. Shakalaka-boom.:-)

Charles, I am so relieved that my slippers, not matching anything you have, are safe! I will sleep much better tonight.:-)

Earshot. I'm getting a visual of attempted ear-piercing with a .22.:)

Serena said...

VE, you're back from the Islands!

I'll bet you could stand the pain of one teensy little piercing/tat. I've heard that it has the unexpected effect on some people of causing them to start waxing poetic in languages they've never spoken before. I know labor did that for me, though my poetry was unprintable.:-)

Seeley! The dragon tattoo sounds beautiful. Have you ever posted a photo of it? LMAO at your #6, and so sorry to hear about the cold. If I got a cold now in this miserable heat, I'm pretty sure I'd need a straitjacket.:)

Anonymous said...

Hm, actually, the idea never crossedmy mind.

Never Fear, Serena--For I, Snowelf, also Speak Binary!
Your slippers are safe Mi'lady!!

1. Are your ears pierced? If so, with how many piercings?
Yes, but just one time. I am too much of a pain-baby to have them done again!

2. Do you have any tattoos? If so, how many and what are they?
No--again...pain-baby. But if I did, I would get a snowflake.

3. Do you believe in love at first sight?
Not so much first sight, but I've fallen for people "at first conversation" before.

4. Can you explain in one word why you blog?
Therapy.

5. Is it ungodly hot where you live? If it is, is it making you as languorous (and cranky) as it is me?
No... it's perfect here today. You should come over! :)

6. Who do you think wrote The Book of Love?
I think it was the Gecko from Gieco. He seems a sensitive 'lil chap.

7. Do you meditate on a regular basis?
No...though I probably should.

8. How many languages do you speak fluently?
English

9. And how many languages do you know a smattering of?
Latin and French.
(and Binary, and Perl. ;) )

Serena said...

Oh, good, Snow. With you helping to defend the Order of the Ruby Slippers, I'm sure they're safe from the Binary Marauders.:)

Your answer to #4 is pretty much my reason, too. And I never suspected the Gecko before, but you may be onto something there. LOL. You speak Binary AND Perl? You translate and let me know if those boys are plotting, okay?:-)

Oh, on the smattering of languages - I forgot Ubbi Dubbi - that would make 7?

(I used to watch Zoom with my daughter - so I had to learn Ubbi Dubbi.)

Scary Monster said...

You really know how to ask the questions, Serena. Things just get wonderfully wacky over here when folks be answerin.

btw. one of the holes is closed but the other is still open. Me used to wear very large guage posts.

Me thought Kanrei's Beatle reference were a Joe Cocker one...

STOMP.

Charles said...

If I get any ear piercing, I only hope its only the ear, and .22 would be preferable to a .44.

Serena said...

Shoot, Mike, a smattering of 7 languages ain't so bad for a redneck from down the holler. I gotta ask, though -- what on earth is Ubbi Dubbi? Is it as fun to speak as it is to say?:-)

I love it when things get wonderfully wacky, Scary. Hey, don't feel bad -- I get Joe Cocker & Beatles tunes confused sometimes, too. I blame it on the 60s. Oh, and you can probably get the closed up hole open by slooooowly working a stud through it. It's sort of like repiercing deja vu, but I have to do it sometimes.

.22 would be preferable to a .44.

For sure, Charles! Rings/studs go right through the .44 holes and fall out the other side.:-)

1) Only when Yoko Ono "sings".

2) I have one on my butt that says, "Remember, Pug , the sock goes in FRONT".

3) No. For instance, I was ambivalent toward Lindsay Lohan UNTIL I discovered that she's a natural redhead. Which, if you think about it, explains the behavior.

4) Scientology.

5) Yes. No, no one can be as cranky as that.

6) The same people who produce "Snapped!".

7) I can't help it. I get a new magazine every month, and it takes a month to work my way through the damned magazine.

8) Body language, baby, And tonight you're got me in Pentecostal overdrive.

9) Prescription writing.

Serena said...

I have a problem with your #2, Puggy. If the tat is on the rear, then you can't see it, right? And the sock is thus always in the wrong place, no?

LiLo is a natural redhead?! That's it, I'm going blonde, black, blue, or maroon. 4, 5, 6, & 7 sound about right. #8 has me going, "Hmmmmm." Are you speaking in tongues? Innnnnn-teresting.:-)

Hale McKay said...

Serena, I take you never saw the kid's program "Zoom." Ubbi Dubbi (rhymes with tubby dubby) was a staple spoken by the kids on the program.
...It's a simple language to write but difficult to speak because of its tongue-twister quality.

You place the syllable "ub" in front of every vowel sound in every word you say.

"all" - would be uball
"ball" - would be buball

"Serena" - would be Suberubenuba

Simple, huh?

Back in May 2005, I posted Ububbubi Dububbubi Ubis Dubead (which traanslates to "Ubbi Dubbi Is Dead.")

For more insight into this language
Read This.

It might make for a fun post someday: Ubbi Dubbi Does Shakespeare?

Serena said...

If I ever saw that, Mike, I don't remember it. Cute language, though!

"Serena" - would be Suberubenuba

I like that.:)

Ubbi Dubbi doing Shakespeare would completely rock. Do it!
