Hump Day Potpourri

It's Wednesday, mid-week. We've made it up the slope and can now start sliding down the other side -- Hump Day. There's a little of this and a little of that on my mind today; not a whole lot of any one thing. Sometimes, bits and pieces are good. Passable, anyway.

- The Menu Foods pet food recall is just beyond horrendous. They keep adding brands of food to the recall list, foods that are poisoning our pets. What are we supposed to feed our animals? I'm not sure I'll ever feel comfortable about using any of those foods again.

- It's finally officially Spring! I had Spring Fever yesterday, when it got hot. Today, it's chilly, like 25 degrees chillier. I can live with it, though, since it's supposed to warm back up tomorrow and stay warm for the foreseeable future.

- Phil Spector's murder trial has started. This is just my opinion, of course, but I think he's one odd duck. Odd looking, too.

- The Anna Nicole Smith (melo)drama just keeps going and going. Hearings on various issues keep occurring, slings and arrows continue to get slung in all directions, accusations are being made, official reports are not forthcoming, and ... one of the Florida judges who heard one of the issues was arrested for smoking pot in a park. No, it wasn't Seidlin. In truth, if I were hearing the case I might be tempted to take up pot smoking, too.

- Angelina Jolie, who somehow manages to scoop up her new kids really quick, is en route back to the States with her newest acquisition, a 3-year-old Vietnamese boy to whom she gave a Latin name, Pax. She may eventually have enough kiddies to run a miniature UN.

Twisted Linguistics are just precious today.

devistating - Home visitations by debutante divas who perform killer makeovers.

recieve - An evening with the Radar Emitter Classification & Identification folks.

harrassment - Men who cheer ("Hurrah! Hooray!") at women's derrieres.

frutrated - A method of colonic cleansing involving fruit.

ungentalmnly - Girly, i.e., unmanly, genitals.

finacially - Fine end results from Ciallis.

He might of lied - Prince Hemight, liege lord of the Land of Lied.

Check here to see if you're in danger of burnout.

You Are 54% Burned Out

You're fairly burned out, and it shows.
You probably have been feeling a little rundown and irritable lately.
If you can, drop a few of your minor responsibilities and focus on what's really important.
You have too much on your plate, and it's catching up with you.

First day of spring and we had snow this morning. Glad it melted.

I think it would SO cool if they used a "Wall of Jurors" in Phil Spector's trial. For instance, instead of simply passing the "guilty" verdict to the judge for him/her to read, the could stand up and sing it in unison with a thunderous R&B backup section.

You are very burned out.
You need a huge break from your responsibilities, starting as soon as possible.
And you need this time to reevaluate what you really want out of your life.
Because you're working hard and going no where... and that would burn anyone out!
Gee no wonder I can't be bothered Humping!

Yuck, Steve. Snow and Spring do not go together.

Pug, that would be VERY cool. I'd like to see the Ronnettes singing backup. Hey, you didn't take the 'Have You Ever' quiz yesterday.

I know what you mean, Cathy. LOL.

Me thinks that be the most normal picture of Phil me has ever seen.
Love the afro.

Me be a little tired of philanthropic movie stars. There be so many things they could do at home for the people who made them rich in the first place.

Me didn't have to take the test to know me is a grumbly monster, but that will change oh so soon.

STOMPALOHA.

P.S. Me always loves listening to iz while reading yer posts.

Alas, the 'fro is gone, Scary -- replaced by a blonde bowl cut. I agree with you about the philanthropic celebrities, who I'm not sure are always being all that philanthropic. I'm glad you're enjoying Iz; I love hearing it, too.

***You Are 32% Burned Out***

You are a little burned out these days.
You are mostly energized and happy, but you occasionally wear yourself down.
Think about taking a personal day every so often.
You work hard, and you deserve to give yourself a little break!

-4 degrees f. this morning. Yay, spring. woo. hoo.

Dang the 'fro is gone. It was a masterpiece.

Serena said...

Oh, my GAWD, Camille -- -4? We were 45-50 degrees warmer than that. I thought it was chilly, but I realize I'm in pretty good shape compared to -4.

I know, Corn Dog. We'll never see anything like that again. If we're lucky.:)

Looking out my window, spring is many moons away yet...
Phil Spector, you'd almost think that is a doctored picture, who would leave the house like that?

Serena said...

Cold where you are, too, MXI? Oh, well, Spring will come. Sometime. As fake as Spector's hair looks, it was real. I saw footage of him walking around with that mess on his head. If I had a bad hair day half that bad, I wouldn't leave home without a bag over my head.:)

Phil Spector belong to the Don King Admiration Society?

It looks like a bowl of bean sprouts was dumped on his head.

Serena said...

For a while I thought it could be a couple of dead animals, but maybe it is bean sprouts. LOL.

You are extremely burned out.
You work too hard, and you're not getting the results you deserve.
It's time for a life change, as soon as you can manage it.
You're giving away most of your energy to something you don't even enjoy.

Ha, I love that a judge got busted getting high in a public place. Wish I'd seen that story. All the rest of the U.S. has to take drug tests to get or keep their jobs, but the upper echelon do as they please. What a f**king double standard. I hope he's disbarred.

It's going to be 80* here today. Of course, I'll sleep through it, as I'm on my way to bed now.

Serena said...

It'll be approaching 80 here, too, Lesia, and I have to work through it. 'Til 2:00, anyway; hopefully, I can duck out early. Sweet dreams.

The thing that shocked me about the Jolie adoption is that she changed the kid's name. If he were a baby, no problem, but his name is all he's had until now. I just think it would be kind of confusing for the little boy.

Am I wrong, here?

Serena said...

You raise a good point, Trish. At 3 years old, a child's name is already an ingrained part of his identity and of his sense of self-awareness. I would think it would be extremely confusing to the child.
