It's Wednesday, and I have promises to keep; i.e., delivering you a Meme.

1. When you make a promise, do you fully intend to keep it?
2. What percentage of your promises would you say you keep?
3. When was the last time you broke a promise?
4. When you break a promise, is it always due to circumstances beyond your control?
5. When was the last promise you made?
6. Do you consider it a point of honor to keep your word?

I didn't see much of the moon last night due to clouds, and I probably won't be able to see it tonight because of rain, but I know it's still there and growing fuller by the moment. I can feel it. Boy, can I ever. Just because you can't see something doesn't mean it isn't there.

Wouldn't it be nice if these blasfomys turned invisible and were no longer there? Never happen, but we can wish -- and play with them much like a cat plays with a mouse.

1. Intentions on promise-making?
Depends on the nature of it, but I generally intend to keep it.

2. Percentage of promises kept?
Better now than 25 years ago; say 95% of the important ones, and probably 60% of the lesser priorities.

3. Last time promise broken?
An insignificant one, probably recently. An important one, a few years ago.

4. Circumstances of a broken promise?
Sometimes it is beyond my control; sometimes, I forgot; sometimes, I quit caring about it. My bad, especially in the third excuse.

5. When was the last promise I made?
Yesterday, regarding very sensitive information.

6. Is it a point of honor to keep my word?
Much moreso today than 30 years ago, especially on the really important stuff.

I don't think that I have ever broke a promise..
And I know that I would never break a promise to you!!
(Have I ever promised you anything?)

Well, you try to keep your promises, Kan. I'm giving you credit for that. Sometimes you just can't do it.:)

Happy Hump Day, /t. May neither of us suffer from menapause.:-)

You have good intentions, Skunk. Yep, you're getting credit, too.:)

Well, geez, Galen. If you can't remember if you ever made me any promises, how will you know if you kept them? For the record, that thing that you did promise me that time, you delivered.:)

"I promise"
Isn't that like "The check is in the mail" or "I will not raise taxes".

If I don't make 'em then I can't break 'em

Serena said...

Yeah, it is rather like that, NYD. Ergo, there's not much percentage in making promises unless you know 100% going in that you can keep them.:)

1. When you make a promise, do you fully intend to keep it?

Yes. But then cruel fate always seems to intervene on Satan's behalf. And soon there goes my angelic credibility.

2. What percentage of your promises would you say you keep?

In this regard, I am similar to Missouri, where the votes will continued to be sifted through, for the forseeable future. But I'm hopeful that enough of the Provisional Ballots will be accepted on my behalf.

3. When was the last time you broke a promise?

When I told that lady I'd go and get help. But then I noticed an episode of "House" coming on that I hadn't seen. And I really like that show, because he helps people.

4. When you break a promise, is it always due to circumstances beyond your control?

Yes, damn them. I refer to these inevitable circumstances as "Ethics Blockades".

5. When was the last promise you made?

When I told that lady I'd go and get help.

6. Do you consider it a point of honor to keep your word?

Sure. But fortunately I see my honor as "a thousand points of light". So who cares or will notice if a few go missing?

I know, Puggy. There's always that Satan/Fate thing sticking its big nose in. Still, you have a pretty good record for, you know, being a little pug and all.:-)
