Miss Begotten is one of my pet names for myself, for Southern Gothic reasons best kept to myself. Miss Begotten tries to speak plainly, but sometimes she tends to babble -- parenthetically, of course. It's never my intention to offend (and usually that's true - except on those [maybe not so] rare occasions when I mean it very friggin' much) but it sometimes happens, so if you're unusually easily offended...

The Past in Black and White
My sister has been scanning old family photos and e-mailed me this one. That's my grandfather in the middle and my grandmother on the right. We're not sure who the girl on the left is; could be one of their sisters. I thought it was a wonderful glimpse into the past -- probably nearly 80 years ago.
I was going to snap a picture for you last night of the moon draped in gauzy clouds as it shone above the lighted church steeple not far from me. It would have made a terrific photo but, alas, I couldn't keep the clouds at bay long enough to get the full effect. That's okay, though. I don't have to see it to know it's there. I'm feeling it. Big-time.
I've had a much less grueling work week, but I'm still glad it's Thursday. I'm more than ready for the start of the weekend.
No blasfomys today. I didn't have enough time to go trawling for them.
Have a great Thursday.

I gots some a them from my genealogically-oriented sister. History is interesting, unless it's recent from the doctor's office...ack ;)
I'm currently making bathtub gin in tribute to the photo. However the instructions don't say how long I should stay in the tub with it.
I was going to ask if the gal on the left was seeing anyone, as she is (also) quite the looker. But then I realized how you said the picture was really old. Plus she's wearing white.
True dat, Skunk. Which is how come I stay clear of doctor's offices.:)
Hang on, Puggy. I may have a recipe for bathtub gin somewhere in the family annals. I do think you have to stay in there throughout the whole aging process, however many hours that is. The girl is cute, isn't she? Plus, the dress could be pink, yellow, light blue. It's hard to tell.:)
Sherry...I love old photo's!!
I hear you are on vacation???
hehehehe..xo
Really cool! I like that it's more of a casual outdoor photo and not just one of those posed ones!
PS – You better not miss my post for Fri 11/14 (not that you ever do). I’m one post shy of 600 and out of those there are only 3 current pictures of VE and NONE of him when he was younger. Ever wonder what teen VE looked like? Here’s your opportunity to find out along with a mega embarrassing meme as well. It’s not pretty.
As much stuff as you have in your garage museum, Galen, you probably have a pile of old photos. I do love seeing these pictures of young people I knew only as old people. Yes, indeed, I'm on mini-vacation now. It IS one of those hehehe moments. I love it.:)
Thanks, VE. I don't care for posed photos, either. I much prefer casual, candid snapshots. Now that the word is out that you've caught Meme Fever, no way will I miss your post tomorrow. I'm dying to see the picture, too.:)
Wow! I love to go down the memory lane with old photo albums! The ones taken before my birth fascinate me even more!
I love strolling down Memory Lane, too, Mona.:)
