The Thursday Q & A

Now that there's a chill in the air (and I've had to scrape ice off my windshield once), I'm thinking about Winter. That means -- yes, you guessed it -- I'll be asking you stuff about Winter today. Bundle up and get ready to answer the Interrogation.

1. What's your favorite cold-weather food?
2. What's your favorite Winter activity?
3. What's the average annual snowfall where you live?
4. Do you shovel your own sidewalks/driveway?
5. What does your Winter coat look like this year?
7. What's your favorite beverage on a cold Winter night?
8. What temperature do you keep your thermostat on in the Winter?
9. Do you have a fireplace? And if so, do you use it?
10. Do you ski, ice skate, or participate in other Winter sports?

And now, if you please, I'd love it if you'd write a little Winter limerick for me.

TWISTED LINGUISTICS would appreciate it if you could interpret these blasfomys.

The Q&A:

1. What's your favorite cold-weather food? – Chili.
2. What's your favorite Winter activity? – Sitting in front of the fireplace reading a good book.
3. What's the average annual snowfall where you live? – Not much.
4. Do you shovel your own sidewalks/driveway? – Yes.
5. What does your Winter coat look like this year? – Same as it did last year.
7. What's your favorite beverage on a cold Winter night? – Tie: Hot Spiced Cider or Hot Buttered Rum
8. What temperature do you keep your thermostat on in the Winter? – 68 degrees.
9. Do you have a fireplace? And if so, do you use it? – Yes. Yes.
10. Do you ski, ice skate, or participate in other Winter sports? – Not any more.

The little Winter limerick:

When storms bearing snow are approaching
And chill in your bones is encroaching
The way to remain
Free of winter’s cold pain
Is to in the hot cider go poaching.

And the blasfomys (well, all but two of them, anyhow):

substaintial – very stained.

I have drove him nuts – with my abysmal command of grammar.

bulemia – Italian for “my bule.”

idot – Apple’s new music player for idiots.

sociaist – an individual who was once a socialist, but decided to get the l out of it.

whom really cares – not meem.

desent – a small coin, five of which constitute denickel and ten, dedime.

1. What's your favorite cold-weather food?

Ice cream from and eaten at an outdoor stand.

2. What's your favorite Winter activity?

Making love in the surf of a deserted beach.

3. What's the average annual snowfall where you live?

It varies, on average.

4. Do you shovel your own sidewalks/driveway?

No, I have one of the neighborhood kids do it. Then when he's done, I remind him that the free candy he got from me last Halloween was a prepayment.

5. What does your Winter coat look like this year?

Being a pug, I'm going with fur again this year, despite the usual expected outrage by animal rights activists.

7. What's your favorite beverage on a cold Winter night?

A powershake. It impresses the ladies.

8. What temperature do you keep your thermostat on in the Winter?

72-degrees when alone / 32-degrees when company attempts to visit.

9. Do you have a fireplace? And if so, do you use it?

Yes. In fact, I'm using it right now as a "poor CEO's shredder".

10. Do you ski, ice skate, or participate in other Winter sports?

I bobsled down crowded ski runs. I enjoy the heightened sense of unpredictability that you just can't get from running in the tubes.

Clam chowder

2. What's your favorite Winter activity?

Sex

3. What's the average annual snowfall where you live?

Usually just a dusting or two the entire winter. An hour or so away they keep 10 feet of snow on the ground all winter

4. Do you shovel your own sidewalks/driveway?

Bwahahaha

5. What does your Winter coat look like this year?

Thick and warm…just like….err…never mind

7. What's your favorite beverage on a cold Winter night?

Sex on the Beach. No really…I’ll be in some tropical destination most likely…

8. What temperature do you keep your thermostat on in the Winter?

72 degrees

9. Do you have a fireplace? And if so, do you use it?

No, it’s a gas fireplace insert and I will probably only use it 5 or 6 times all winter

10. Do you ski, ice skate, or participate in other Winter sports?

I ski all winter long. I use these really short skis without poles though. I ice skated all the time from age 11 through 22 but inline skating came to be and I switched. Now I just take the kids once during Christmas time. I go snow shoeing a couple of times every winter.

Winter Limerick:
Oh great, the weather’s getting nippy
All I can see is “wow, yippy”
Trudging through rain
Again and again
I really could very well skippy

I like chili on cold nights, too, Bilbo; as long as it isn't too spicy. Excellent limerick, sir. And once again, you've knocked yourself out with the blasfomys.:)

Pugs have a whole different take on Winter, don't they, Puggy? LOL. At least you don't have to buy a coat, though. Let's just pray you don't get mange.:)

I like clam chowder, too, VE. Sex does indeed keep the blood pumping in cold weather. Just avoid Puggy's frigid surf when in the mood.:-)

Shery's Questions are an eclectic mix
On subjects from politics to Flix
But sometimes she hurries
And her vision gets blurry
And she forgets to add number six!!

Oh, geez, Galen, I did forget to put a 6 in there, didn't I? Well, you knew I was mathematically challenged. I've had Tim Horton's coffee, and tea. It's wonderful! Thank you for the limerick, my dear, even if it did memorialize one of my little fugue states.:)
