She's Alive

The move is over and ... Serena lives. I had a great moving crew and they worked fast (and well!) and got me moved faster than anticipated. That meant that the bill came in under estimate, which made me happy. My sister spent the weekend with me and helped me get everything unpacked and put away and the place is now finished. It was a huge amount of work and I'm covered in scrapes and bruises. I narrowly missed getting a broken finger, too (dropped a TV on it). It's purple and sore, but definitely not broken. I really, really wish I'd had the foresight to take today off from work. I could really have used a day to rest and do nothing. I guess I can take it easy after I get home this afternoon, though. That ain't too shabby.

I amazed even myself by the actual amount of de-cluttering I did. I'm probably going to miss some of that stuff down the road, but I'll get over it. For now, I really like having less clutter around.

Living in an apartment, I now have to allot time for dog walking. It was so much more convenient to just open the back door and let her out, but we'll get used to this.

All in all, as sore and exhausted as I am, I'm pleased.

Tonight and/or tomorrow, I'm going to catch up with all of you who've been neglected for the past couple of weeks. It's good to have all that work over and done with and leisure time in sight.

Hope you all had a great weekend!

Wow, that's pretty fast. Mine took weeks. Weeks! I even took a week off and it didn't matter. But we had an open house this weekend and about a 100 people so we are now officially done too...

But what was the solution to the tip drama?

I am so glad its finally over. Have a good rest Serena, you deserve that...specially with that full moon around tomorrow!

see? you might just have 'worked away' your moodiness ;)

Somebody should have shot that damned 5th horseman right out of the saddle, Mike.:-)

Thanks, Clive. I like it a lot. I mean, a LOT.:)

My sister is a slave driver, VE. She wouldn't stop (or let me) 'til everything was pulled together and spic & span. I'm glad she was so energetic about it, though. Otherwise, I might still be sitting on a pile of boxes.:)

They got $25 each, Kan. And if I could have afforded more, I'd have given it to them. They got it done fast enough that they shaved down my estimate significantly but, alas, I am not made of money. Especially now.:)

I'm glad it's over, too, Mona. There is, unfortunately, no rest for the weary. Work was the typical Monday From Hell today. I'm taking it easy tonight, though. Dang, you may be right; I didn't even realize the Big Moon was imminent.:)

Great. Now you'll have room in the new place for this "tchotsky".

Thanks, Galen. The bruises will fade and the scrapes will scab over. It's all good.:-)

Now that you've dismounted from the 5th Horse of the Apocalypse -- at least I hope you made the horse carry some stuff -- welcome back to the pseudo-regular world, of post-moving stabilization...A move sucks, until it's done and everything's organized. Then, it's great...that it's done ;)

So true, Skunk. Now that it's done, it's great. And if I see another horseman, he'd better watch out.:)
