The Thursday Q & A

myspace layout codes

1. Is John McCain really suspending his campaign, or what?

2. How much of what Dubya said in his speech last night did you understand?

3. How good are your Doublespeak interpretation skills?

4. Do you approve or disapprove of the government's "correction" plan for the failed financial institutions?

5. Are you, the average taxpayer, up for paying (I think the tab is calculated at $7,000 for each of us) for some rich guy's pool, limo, driver, mansion, maid, retirement fund, and severance package?

6. If you can't pay your taxes, do you believe the government will bail you out or stick you in a correctional institution?

7. So, now what do you want to be when you grow up?

Ah, the hell with that. Are you up for defining some blasfomys? They make more sense than the other stuff.

faily
procedes
cutsomers
helth care
vendictive
mysogonistic
sighned up
trator

I want to comment, I really do, but I have no idea what you wrote after that really horrible picture. I screamed, broke my second screen this week, and ran from my office. I am typing this on a co-worker's on the promise I don't look at the photo this time.

1. Is John McCain really suspending his campaign, or what?

I believe he is. McCain has done work unlike Obama who has barely done a thing except run around the country.

2. How much of what Dubya said in his speech last night did you understand?

Didn't listen to the speech. I heard he did good though but I couldn't never get past his dopey looking face.

3. How good are your Doublespeak interpretation skills?

Fairly good. When Ross Perot was running I quickly discovered for all the talking he did, he never actually said anything.

4. Do you approve or disapprove of the government's "correction" plan for the failed financial institutions?

It would make more sense to give tax payers the money.

5. Are you, the average taxpayer, up for paying (I think the tab is calculated at $7,000 for each of us) for some rich guy's pool, limo, driver, mansion, maid, retirement fund, and severance package?

I once heard the Ben and Jerry guys won't take over $90,000 a year because they didn't think it was right to take more. Kudos to them. Oh did you hear that PETA wants them to stop using cow milk and start using human breast milk in their products?

6. If you can't pay your taxes, do you believe the government will bail you out or stick you in a correctional institution?

I've seen Leavenworth prison. It looks quite ominous from the outside. I don't want to see the inside.

ROXAN! MY SOUL MATE! WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN AND HOW ARE YOU?

1. Is John McCain really suspending his campaign, or what?

The wuss obviously plans to hide until the election. He knows Obama will shred him.

2. How much of what Dubya said in his speech last night did you understand?

Quite a bit. But, you see, I have the advantage of having watched Jody Foster's performance in "Nell" over and over (it REALLY helps).

3. How good are your Doublespeak interpretation skills?

Good, I'd say. Here, let me give it a whirl: "Due to the current financial crisis, it would be foolish of me to work on paying my own bills when I need to be tending to the crisis. There are bad people out there who would like to see me do just that, but I will not falter nor will I fail."

4. Do you approve or disapprove of the government's "correction" plan for the failed financial institutions?

Strongly disapprove. Where's our check when they profit? They can't have it both ways (Private profit / socialized debt). Will they take care of any gambling debts that I might accrue?

5. Are you, the average taxpayer, up for paying (I think the tab is calculated at $7,000 for each of us) for some rich guy's pool, limo, driver, mansion, maid, retirement fund, and severance package?

Not even if I were the rich guy. Especially not then.

6. If you can't pay your taxes, do you believe the government will bail you out or stick you in a correctional institution?

I should be that lucky to have the government pay to house me and provide three squares a day.

7. So, now what do you want to be when you grow up?

CEO of Fannie Mae.

1. Is John McCain really suspending his campaign, or what?

I don’t know but I’ll be he’s wearing suspenders!

2. How much of what Dubya said in his speech last night did you understand?

None. I didn’t watch. A fruity rum drink was calling my name.

3. How good are your Doublespeak interpretation skills?

Excellent. I bought the Babelfish upgrade for that very thing…

4. Do you approve or disapprove of the government's "correction" plan for the failed financial institutions?

See my post for today…the worlds problems are solved there

5. Are you, the average taxpayer, up for paying (I think the tab is calculated at $7,000 for each of us) for some rich guy's pool, limo, driver, mansion, maid, retirement fund, and severance package?

I’m not average so it sounds like this won’t apply then

6. If you can't pay your taxes, do you believe the government will bail you out or stick you in a correctional institution?

What if I can’t correct my taxes? Does that mean an institution will pay them?

7. So, now what do you want to be when you grow up?

Financially independent!

Not to post for a third time today, but I actually know these words...

faily- an unsuccessful fairy

procedes- to follow a profit

cutsomers- people who visit a barber

helth care- caring for the corpse of Heath Leger (too soon?)

vendictive- getting even with a Venn diagram

mysogonistic- a hatrid for Miso soup

sighned up- reluctantly volunteering

trator- a traitorous tracker

Kan, I offer my abject apologies for the picture. Clearly, I didn't realize how strongly it would affect you. So, I don't owe you for a concussion and an ER visit, do I? Thank God you recovered enough to provide some mighty fine "word" definitions. Re the Heath care, no, I don't think it's too soon. Public domain, you know.:)

Is that true about PETA, Roxan? Eee-yew! I hope none of us end up seeing Leavenworth from the inside for failure to pay our fair share to bail out the big boys who are down to mere trillions in assets.:)

Thank you, Puggy, for reminding me that I need to watch Nell again. Now that you refresh my memory, it occurs to me that there is much to be learned from young Nell vis-a-vis understanding these weird goings-on. Oh, my, yes, you DO have Doublespeak down pat. I'm impressed! You could rent yourself out as an interpreter for political events. Good luck getting a bail-out on your gambling debts. I just hope we don't end up as cell mates at Leavenworth.:-)

Funny you should say that, VE. I saw 2 men wearing suspenders yesterday. They both looked like dorks. Babelfish is a great solution to Doublespeak -- but not as great as rum. When it comes to #5, the government uses Doublespeak to define average. But don't worry, Puggy and I will watch your back at Leavenworth. And I think I know how to make a shank. We'll be okay.

/t., I worry about you. Although not as much as if you'd said you want to be JANET Jackson when you grow up. Thinking does indeed hurt, especially today, but Happy Thursday anyway.:)

I know, Mona. One must be ever vigilant for the head scratching. And we must do so covertly -- to stay out of Leavenworth.:-)

Yep, it is absolutely true. Think of all the new flavors names Ben and Jerry could come up with.

Boob Berry
Tin Alley Tit
Mammary Mint
Breast Pump Chunk
Lactation Licorice

I won't lard down your blog with my thoughts on this matter; I'll just say that I have responded to PETA's urging on Ben 'n Jerry's to change a key ingredient in their ice cream, and it'll post at 0130 this morning (Mountain Time).

Serena said...

LOL, Roxan. That's a perfectly disgusting proposition, and I would recommend that PETA pull its head out of its ass, not that it has any credibility left anyway. Those new flavor names are funny as hell, though.:-)

Skunk, you can say whatever you want, as much as you want, on my blog. I'll look forward to seeing your 0130 post.:)

I try never to talk about religion or politics..

I'm voting for Pat Paulson.

Serena said...

I try to avoid those topics, too, Galen, but right now it's impossible. This particular elephant in the room is just too over the top to ignore.:)

Skunkfeathers said...

G-Man, now THAT'S a sensible vote! I'm a Pat Paulsen supporter from the late 60s ;)

quid said...

Love the picture, SJ! That says it all.

I (gulp) hate to tell you both that Pat Paulsen is dead. You can still vote for him, tho. My favorite Pat Paulsen
Presidential Campaign Slogan:

"I've upped my standards. Now, up yours."

Serena said...

Skunk, did out your campaign buttons from the 60s and start wearing them.:-)

Well, then, Quid, I'm going to be advocating voting for the dead guy. Love that campaign slogan. LOL.:)
