Before I get down to answering yer queries I just gotta tell you how wonderfully charming the photo is. You look genuinely happy.

1. Do you think there are more...

I think that these things have always happened. If there is an increase in events I cannot say, but we are constantly bombarded with information and the media moguls must make the most out of any and every disaster they can regardless if it be natural or man made

2. Are you sick of ...
You have to be involved or concerned with something to actually be able to feel something about it. Fortunately I am both ignorant and apathetic.

3. What did you wear to work today? Cargo pants and a hoodie. I just love being the frickin boss!

4. Have you gotten your "economic stimulus"
Excuse me? Could you put that into English please.

5. Regarding the above-mentioned check, do you think it'll be more trouble than it's worth in the long-run?
..........

6. Do you have any idea whatsoever why the government has mandated a switch to digital signal HDTV in 2009?

Probly for the same reason they are doing a similar thing here in japan.
To make it easier to brainwash the public through the idiot box.
Reality TV is nothing but suliminal messeging and government propaganda.

(My conspiracy theory of the week)

7. Do you think we'd be better off if the government kept the trains running on time and stayed out of all the other aspects of our lives?

Who uses trains anymore?
They arer run by the govt. and that is why if you board one you will never reach your destination.

(This messege brought to you by the John Candy for president organization)

8. What did you have for breakfast?

Stress and aggravation- I had early classes at the university today

flgiht - the activity pursued by very confused birds.

thing out loud - sorry...every response I can think of is obscene.

advesary - where you store your adveses.

orginizations - societies dedicated to the imbibing of gin. Where do I sign up?

frivilous - like frivolous, but evil.

Navada - where people from Illonois go during the winter.

Illonois - where people from Navada go to admire tall buildings.

perdicted - what Mr Bush failed to do about the Iraq mess.

envirnmental - oops - brain block on this one.

envlopes - the pace at which you run to catch the mailman before he drives away without your letter.

1. Do you think there are more cyclones, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, tornados, etc., nowadays, or do you think they're just more widely reported?

No, I think we hear of them more because of media.

2. Are you sick of both Obama and Clinton? If so, which one are you most sick of?

Obama

3. What did you wear to work today? Or, if you didn't work, what did you put on this morning?

Still in my PJs.

4. Have you gotten your "economic stimulus" check yet?

Yes and it was a bad joke.

5. Regarding the above-mentioned check, do you think it'll be more trouble than it's worth in the long-run?

We'll all be paying for it next tax year.

6. Do you have any idea whatsoever why the government has mandated a switch to digital signal HDTV in 2009?

To be irritating.

7. Do you think we'd be better off if the government kept the trains running on time and stayed out of all the other aspects of our lives?

It would be a start.

8. What did you have for breakfast?

Blackberry cobbler.

1. Do you think there are more cyclones, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, tornados, etc., nowadays, or do you think they're just more widely reported? Just more widely reported

2. Are you sick of both Obama and Clinton? If so, which one are you most sick of? Yup. They are irritating, aren't they?

3. What did you wear to work today? Or, if you didn't work, what did you put on this morning? I am still in my PJ's because it is 95 degrees here and my new theory is why mess up the good clothes.

4. Have you gotten your "economic stimulus" check yet? yes

5. Regarding the above-mentioned check, do you think it'll be more trouble than it's worth in the long-run? yes

6. Do you have any idea whatsoever why the government has mandated a switch to digital signal HDTV in 2009? They did it because the husband bought the HDTV that keeps breaking. When the repairman comes on Saturday, it will be his 5th trip. I'm sorry for my husband but I go back to my long standing theory from 40 years ago. No good will come of TV.

7. Do you think we'd be better off if the government kept the trains running on time and stayed out of all the other aspects of our lives? I think the government can't even keep the freakin' trains running on time. I want the SOBs to get out of Iraq, quit making cars that use fossil fuels, devise some health care in this country that is not breaking every one, and stop out sourcing all the freakin' jobs to other countries. We are our own worst enemy. I'm afraid it is the plight of man to destroy ourselves. Sheesh, I'm little Miss Sunshine today, aren't I?

8. What did you have for breakfast? Oatmeal, dates and baby bananas.

1. Do you think there are more cyclones, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, tornados, etc., nowadays, or do you think they're just more widely reported?

I think there are more, because the Earth lost its Flea Collar.

2. Are you sick of both Obama and Clinton? If so, which one are you most sick of?

Obama, because he is keeping the woman that I love away from what she wants.

3. What did you wear to work today? Or, if you didn't work, what did you put on this morning?

Off today, so for me it's g-string, capris, and half-shirt.

4. Have you gotten your "economic stimulus" check yet?

The medical staff here controls the amount of stimulus I am allowed to have. So no check. I suppose I need to trust that I am in good hands.

5. Regarding the above-mentioned check, do you think it'll be more trouble than it's worth in the long-run?

Money always brings trouble. This is why I only deal in stolen goods.

6. Do you have any idea whatsoever why the government has mandated a switch to digital signal HDTV in 2009?

I think it's because their covert research of a recovered-intact alien spacecraft revealed DIGITAL circuitry. So now they too want to be "high-tech".

7. Do you think we'd be better off if the government kept the trains running on time and stayed out of all the other aspects of our lives?

The Nazis kept the trains running on time, so no thanks. I'd be happy if they simply managed to periodically mail free tranquilizers to Casa de Pug.

8. What did you have for breakfast?

I could just tell you, but where would the fun be in that? Instead, you need to cut me open and analyze my stomach contents. Only if you find a Rolex, I want it back.

Serena said...

Why, thank you, NYD. That's so sweet of you to say.

I think you're probably right about #1, although it does seem that there are more natural disasters these days. #3 -- you bet! It rocks to be the boss. For what it's worth, I don't think your #6 "conspiracy theory" is so far off the mark. I can't figure out why the quality of our TV reception should concern the government. It's not like they care about the quality (not!) of the content we're watching.:)

Bilbo, once again you reign as Word King today. They all made me laugh, but I'm particularly enamored of "pigion hole," "pinguin," and "thing out loud.":-)

Roxan, you, too, are probably right about #1. Re #3, I plan to stay in my PJs for a good long time tomorrow. #5 - yep! They're just lending us back our own money and will collect it back with interest next year. #8 -- really?! I want to have breakfast at your house.:)

In answer to your #2, Corn Dog, yes! They are! Exceedingly so. #3 -- dang, 95 degrees? That's hot! We had a cold snap and I got my blanket back out. My pup got her summer haircut this week, and she's not happy about this. I should probably put her little sweater on her. #6 -- I haven't bought one yet, but I can see the writing on the wall instructing me that I must. #8 -- I've never seen baby bananas. Don't their mamas cry when you eat them?:)

My Lord, Puggy. In light of your answer to #3, I am worried about you. #4 -- I didn't realize you'd beaten me into the home. I could probably break you out of there in a stolen, hotwired wheelchair. I'll even buy you breakfast, because I can assure you right up front that I am NOT cutting you open to make sure they fed you. But if I did, the Rolex is mine.:-)

1. Do you think there are more cyclones, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, tornados, etc., nowadays, or do you think they're just more widely reported? Better communications make reporting easier, and since the media feels threatened by the current administration, we get more disaster news.

2. Are you sick of both Obama and Clinton? If so, which one are you most sick of? No. Bush.

3. What did you wear to work today? Or, if you didn't work, what did you put on this morning? I won't start work until next Tuesday.

4. Have you gotten your "economic stimulus" check yet? That check is more like an economic pacifier. Until the economy stops bleeding from a war we should never have been in, there will be no stimulus.

5. Regarding the above-mentioned check, do you think it'll be more trouble than it's worth in the long-run? Money never hurt the economy, not enough money will.

6. Do you have any idea whatsoever why the government has mandated a switch to digital signal HDTV in 2009? Yeah, because it was supposed to have happened years ago, but has had problems from business.

7. Do you think we'd be better off if the government kept the trains running on time and stayed out of all the other aspects of our lives?
Other than protection from the criminal, I think the government should leave us the heck alone.

8. What did you have for breakfast?
Oatmeal.

Serena said...

Bilbo is very good at definiting, isn't he, Jack? I'm not sure whether he should be scared.:-) I didn't do anything, but I'm glad things are loading normally for you this morning.:)

Excellent, insightful answers, Charles. And may I say congratulations regarding #3 and next Tuesday. I'm so happy for you! #8 -- I like oatmeal. I just hope you spared the baby bananas of the world when you had yours.:-)

1. Do you think there are more cyclones, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, tornados, etc., nowadays, or do you think they're just more widely reported?

Having been through many of these things…just more widely reported.

2. Are you sick of both Obama and Clinton? If so, which one are you most sick of?

Who? ;)

3. What did you wear to work today? Or, if you didn't work, what did you put on this morning?

Shorts, T-Shirt, sandals. I’m going hiking today…

4. Have you gotten your "economic stimulus" check yet?

I didn’t qualify…apparently I’m too privileged

5. Regarding the above-mentioned check, do you think it'll be more trouble than it's worth in the long-run?

What check? I did a virus check on my computer…

6. Do you have any idea whatsoever why the government has mandated a switch to digital signal HDTV in 2009?

To send subliminal conformity messages in between the digital signal…

7. Do you think we'd be better off if the government kept the trains running on time and stayed out of all the other aspects of our lives?

I don’t see any trains at all. Do you have trains? I had these trains when I was a kid…they were fun to crash.

8. What did you have for breakfast?

Champions. Isn’t that what they say to have?

Serena said...

Happy hiking, VE. When I grow up, I want your job. What's not to love about 363 holidays a year and too privileged for government checks? About #8, you weren't supposed to eat the champions. Don't worry, though; I won't snitch on you.:)

1. Do you think there are more cyclones, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, tornados, etc., nowadays, or do you think they're just more widely reported?

I think it's the trendy thing in newscasting right now. I swear NewsStations can't wait for the day they get to report this: Cheif Meterologist Scott Winters was blown to Timbuktu during today's hurricane-- you heard and saw it live on News Channel 13!

2. Are you sick of both Obama and Clinton? If so, which one are you most sick of?

I think Clinton. It's pretty close though.

3. What did you wear to work today? Or, if you didn't work, what did you put on this morning?

Black capri's a peach and white striped sweater, black flip flops. I actually looked like crap because I threw everything on at the last minute since I set my alarm for the wrong time.

4. Have you gotten your "economic stimulus" check yet?
Yes...sadly it went to my security deposit for my new apt.
And gas.

5. Regarding the above-mentioned check, do you think it'll be more trouble than it's worth in the long-run?

Yes.

6. Do you have any idea whatsoever why the government has mandated a switch to digital signal HDTV in 2009?

I think it has something to do with the Jolly Green Giant, but I'm not 100% on that.

7. Do you think we'd be better off if the government kept the trains running on time and stayed out of all the other aspects of our lives?

Actually, no, not really. Most people need someone telling them what to do to feel safe.

8. What did you have for breakfast?
French vanilla cappuccino, yogurt, and a little debbie nutty bar. I'm so not the picture of health today!

:)
