Booty Call

myspace layout codes

Well, I see from the news on my home page that:

- Lindsay Lohan has been axed from a movie about Charlie Manson's girls because, allegedly, no reputable actresses want to work with her. Dang, that would be a blow to the ego when the other girls willing to play psychos don't want to play with Lindsay. I guess it doesn't help her rep that some folks say she steals fur coats. Everyone knows that fur is gauche.

- Michael Jackson's Neverland ranch was snatched back from the jaws of foreclosure by a last-minute buy-out of a $23.5 million loan by Colony Capital. My only question is, WHY? He didn't want the place any more, abandoned the animals on the place, and isn't living there. Doesn't make much sense to me.

- Attractive women should date homely men. Really? You don't see all that many attractive men dating homely women. Wonder who thought that one up?

- Many of my problems, physical and emotional, may be caused by a too-small or too-large bra. Do tell! I'm certainly not sporting one of the too-big variety and I don't think it's too small because, as much as I hate to tell you, they don't come much smaller than mine -- unless we're talking training bras. I guess I'll just have to suffer in silence.

I think we'd all be much better off to put our heads together, gather our forces, and go dig up the Beale Treasure. If you aren't familiar with it, the Beale treasure is said to be a cache of gold, silver, and jewels worth millions buried in the early 1800s in Bedford County, Virginia (where I was born) by Thomas Jefferson Beale. Purportedly, the treasure is buried in iron pots in caves. Beale left what's referred to as the Beale Cipher which, if successfully deciphered, will lead to the exact location of the treasure. After all these years, only one page (#2) of the three pages of code has ever been decrypted -- using the Declaration of Independence as the key. Even with the advent of advanced computer technology, the remaining two pages of code have never been broken.

These are the ciphers:

I know you guys are smart, so if you come up with anything, let us know.

Using the Declaration of Independence, #2 was decrypted thusly:

“I have deposited in the county of Bedford, about
four miles from Buford’s, in an excavation or vault,
six feet below the surface of the ground, the
following articles: ... The deposit consists of two
thousand nine hundred and twenty one pounds of
gold and five thousand one hundred pounds of silver;
also jewels, obtained in St. Louis in exchange for silver
to save transportation ... The above is securely packed
in iron pots, with iron covers. The vault is roughly lined
with stone, and the vessels rest on solid stone, and are
covered with others ...”

People have been digging up Bedford County for decades searching for the booty, with no luck. There is a Web site which claims to have broken the codes in all 3 messages and located the vault -- which was empty -- but I'm highly skeptical. If that had happened, it would have been in all the papers around here. And the photo I saw of the alleged vault was not taken in a cave. If the treasure ever existed, chances are it's still out there. Somewhere.

As long as we're in the mood to decode some cryptic stuff, we might as well try our code-breaking skills on a few Words Gone Wild.

Hehehe I loved your Bill/spam comment! :)

Lindsay has gotten quite a rep on her hasn't she? I read about the fur coat too. What a trip!

I also heard about the beautiful chicks dating homely guys thing. I don't know how true that is, or why it wouldn't work both ways?

I don't know, VE. I don't think I'd trust Geraldo with this. I think we should all get together and dig it up ourselves.:)

Hey, Bilbo -- late start, easy pickings. Doesn't matter! You nailed 'em. I'll have to tell y'all sometime about my Val dream.:-)

Hi, Snow. Rep is good, but not BAD rep. Lindsay needs an overhaul. I don't know why the homely thing shouldn't work both ways. Seems fair to me. One person's homely is another person's beautiful, anyway.:)

I've been pretty busy and have several of your posts to catch up on.

I want to first wish you a belated Happy Mother's Day. (I'm sure how your day went is written about in a previous post.)

Secondly, a reminder that on Monday, the next chapter of Echoes of Eddie-20 was posted. The story is winding down.

Let me guess, Geraldo Rivera has broken the code and will soon be his next TV special - if he can find any network who will air it.

doctrin Redneck way of sayin' what doctors do.

monicker What Ted Kennedy calls that Lewinsky girl.

I see you have some strong opinions on these issues, G. And you know Bedford County. Yay! Love your definition of 'doctrin.' Why didn't I think of that?:)

I'm way behind, too, Mike. I know Mondays are 'Eddie Days,' and I still haven't gotten to it. I need days with more hours in them! I'll get over there before I go to sleep. Love your definitions, especially 'Monicker.' LOL!:)
