The Thursday Q & A

ImageChef.com - Custom comment codes for MySpace, Hi5, Friendster and more

I had a brief season in hell at my house yesterday. The furnace came on (it was in the 70s, for God's sake!) and wouldn't turn off. By the time I got home from work, it was 83 degrees inside. Thankfully, some repairmen came to the rescue and fixed some shorted out wiring in fairly short order. It took a long, long time for the overheated radiators to cool down, though. I still had a battalion of fans running on high at 11:00 P.M. last night.

This is my Friday -- since I don't work Fridays -- and it seems like a long time coming this week. Geez, I'm tired. TGIThursday. I'm going to go do my thing today, then run some errands, buy some increasingly overpriced food (but no gas today, thankfully!), and then go home and crash.

And now on to your regularly scheduled Q&A.

1. Have you ever had surgery? If so, how many times? (You don't have to tell what it was for.)

2. How many books would you estimate you own?

3. When was the last time you ate ice cream?

4. When do you think you'll go swimming for the first time this year?

5. Do you like watermelon?

6. When you eat watermelon, do you:
(a) Put salt on it?
(b) Eat it with a fork?
(c) Like it ice cold or air temperature?
(d) Spit the seeeds?

7. When was the last time you traveled by train?

8. What is your preferred pain reliever?

Speaking of pain, yeah, you know it -- we have Words Gone Wild to analyze today. Aren't these just stinkalicious?

1. Have you ever had surgery? If so, how many times? (You don't have to tell what it was for.)

Well, broken nose (pool cue across it..wrong place/wrong time); compound fracture (plates in left arm, skating accident, plates in arm); a couple others along with numerous broken bones all over.

2. How many books would you estimate you own?

Should I count the “You will Go to the Moon” library book that was due back in 1969? If so then probably 200.

3. When was the last time you ate ice cream?

It wasn’t MY fault. The ice cream forced me. It was on Monday…

4. When do you think you'll go swimming for the first time this year?

In Oregon? That would be July. But I’ll be swimming in June when I go to Belize and Guatemala.

5. Do you like watermelon?

No; and it doesn’t like me so it’s a good balance.

6. When you eat watermelon, do you:
(a) Put salt on it?
(b) Eat it with a fork?
(c) Like it ice cold or air temperature?
(d) Spit the seeeds?

7. When was the last time you traveled by train?

Well, if you don’t count our light rail public transportation train, then it would have to be 1982 when I toured Europe by with a Eurorail pass.

8. What is your preferred pain reliever?

Sex.

Yikes on #4, Skunky. You be careful out there! There is NO drowning in storms allowed around here. Yeah, your answer to #8 works for me, too.:)

That's a /t.licious definition, /t. I've had a totally serene day after the hump. Hope you have, too.:)

I don't like gin, Bilbo, but I see the wisdom of your answer to #8. I think some nice vodka or tequila would work just as well, don't you? I love your definitions today. I'm still laughing about the suicide canoe.:-)

Ouch! Roxan, to #1. That was a big girl! I agree with you on #5. It HAS to be fresh watermelon. Nothing else will work. GREAT wisdom in your #8. LOL!:D

I feel your pain in #1, VE. Well, no, actually I don't. I have never, knock on wood, suffered a broken bone. Re #2, yeah, you can count that book. I won't tell anybody. Mmm-hmm, your #8 is a great pain reliever, provided one has heeded the advice in Roxan's #8.:-)

I'm definitely going to check out that paperback swap site, Leelee. I could really use something like that. LOL at your 6(d). Who says ladies can't spit? Sure, we can go ahead and count your #7 kiddie train ride.:)

Wow, Pinks, swimming in Tanzania; I could go for that. It's true about the watermelon/salt thing; I've seen people do it. I never would. I like my watermelon sweet. I don't even like salt on a Margarita glass.:)

Dang, Mike, I haven't had a fudgesicle in years. I should buy some. I'll bet they'd work better on my headaches than Excedrin or Ibuprofen.:)

1. Have you ever had surgery? If so, how many times? (You don't have to tell what it was for.) Lost count. The worst ones where
a) THe plastic surgeon reeking of whiskey who put my nose back on my face because my ex hit a car from the back on the interstate going 60mph and I did not have my seat belt on.
b) The surgeon who inserted the port-a-cath for chemo and accidentally popped my lung.
c) the quack of a brain surgeon who was supposed to remove my brain tumor but tromped around with golf shoes on in there instead.

2. How many books would you estimate you own? 30

3. When was the last time you ate ice cream? yesterday

5. Do you like watermelon? YES

6. When you eat watermelon, do you:
(a) Put salt on it? No

8. What is your preferred pain reliever? Right now I'm dabbling with Imitrex and Aleve. Makes my lips go numb. Cool.

It was a spur of the moment thing, SJ. I walked by the frozen case on the way to buy a newspaper and spotted them.

I hadn't had a fudgesicle in YEARS! So I decided to end the drought. And I think it was even better than I remembered!
