GIGO Grammar:
I heard Prince Andrew make this GIGO faux pas the other day:
"Between William and I..."
You Are an Apple |
You are strong, powerful, and even a bit stubborn at times. You have enough strength to help those around you in trouble. You are adventurous and charming. Many people are drawn to you. You love life, and you enjoy traveling the world. You enjoy fine food, art, and culture. People have accused you of being a snob, but that's not accurate. You do enjoy the best things in life. Unlike snobs, you truly appreciate quality... not just pretend to. |

1. How often do you blog? I average 6 days a week. The ideas don't really come like that, they tend to come in waves and I have anywhere from 5 to 20 posts completed or semi-completed at any one time. That way, if I get busy or draw a temporary blank, I just pick one that is complete and it takes all of 1 minute or so to post.
2. How long does it usually take you to write a blog post? Depends how much effort I have to put into visuals. The stories flow fast. I won a writing competition earlier this month and spend all of 10 minutes on the entry. Pictures take time to get right though. I have to find the right ones and sometimes take my own and many times manipulate them just right to get the post where I want it.
3. How many blogs do you visit on a regular basis? About 20, with another 15 or so on a semi-regular basis.
4. How many blogs do you comment on daily? Same as above
5. How about comments? Do you (a) like them; (b) don't like them; or (c) can take them or leave them?
I like them. I almost always comment, I read the comments, I always comment back and I even read the followup to those. I even base my blog roll on who comments on my blog and how often
6. Are you able to blog from your job? Sure...why else would I be here?
7. How many blogs do you write or contribute to? Just mine....everyone else is scared I'm insane...

Sorry about the deleted comment, it was mine, the size of the comment field got me, one of the questions ended right at the right margin and I messed up by answering the question above on the question below it.
1. How often do you blog? Oh heck - that can be anywhere from 3 times daily to once a week.
2. How long does it usually take you to write a blog post? Depends on the length of it but usually a half hour at most. However, what DOES take me time is figuring out how to wrap the text around photos or just say sod it and reload the photo in the center at top ;) I tend to write it through and rarely even spell check (sorry)

4. How many blogs do you comment on daily? 5 or so - sometimes 20 - depends on whether I'm doig it quickly or sitting in front of the tele and surfing
5. How about comments? Do you (a) like them; (b) don't like them; or (c) can take them or leave them?
LOL! That depends on whether they agree with me! ;-)

7. How many blogs do you write or contribute to? One.
Are you going to let us know your answers, SJ?
Very interesting answers, everyone. Most illuminating. I see a lot of commonality -- and a lot of self-deprecation. ALL of your blogs are tops in my book.:)
Roxan, Kan, and Charles, thanks for the delightful definitions. Gave me the giggles, they did.
Charles, not to worry -- deleted comments are never a problem. I don't mind corrections a bit.
And yes, I'll do my answers. After while.:)

You're a truly dedicated blogger, Mike. I'm in awe.:)
1. How often do you blog?
I used to blog every day; then I went to 5 or 6 days; now I'm thinking about cutting back some. Time is at a real premium.
2. How long does it usually take you to write a blog post?
Rarely more than 10 to 20 minutes.
3. How many blogs do you visit on a regular basis?
Probably 20 or so. And even that's hard to do -- getting to everyone -- any more.
4. How many blogs do you comment on daily?
Probably 10 or so.
5. How about comments? Do you (a) like them; (b) don't like them; or (c) can take them or leave them?
I like them very much, of course. And I love it when I can think of something witty to comment on someone else's.
6. Are you able to blog from your job?
Yes.
7. How many blogs do you write or contribute to?
3 (2 mine, 1 joint), and there's another I'm supposed to be contributing to but don't.
1. How often do you blog?
I try to do at least 3 posts a week.
2. How long does it usually take you to write a blog post?
HA!..I'm no typist.Sometimes,it takes me several hours to do a few paragraphs.
3. How many blogs do you visit on a regular basis?
5-10..It takes me about 2 days to cover everyone on my blogroll.
While I don't always comment,I do read them all.
4. How many blogs do you comment on daily?
I guess I average about 5 during the week, and 20 or so on the weekend.
5. How about comments? Do you (a) like them; (b) don't like them; or (c) can take them or leave them?
Doesn't everyone love comments?..Still,sometimes time constraints keep me from posting responses as much as I'd like.
6. Are you able to blog from your job?
I could if I wanted to,but I don't..Work is work.
7. How many blogs do you write or contribute to?
1..
Time constraints is the thing, Sling. So many blogs, so little time - relatively speaking. Sometimes I'm guilty of buzzing by to read but not commenting, and I feel bad about that. And then there are those blogs I'll check out but would rather saw off my hand than comment on.:)
1. How often do you blog?
increasingly rarely. Used to be almost once a day. Now...once per week? Maybe? On a good week?
2. How long does it usually take you to write a blog post?
too long. It was really the blogrolling which was my major time suck -- hours and hours of every day. Between posting and reading and responding to everyone, perhaps 3-4 hours per day. I don't know how you do it. You must be a lot faster than I am.
3. How many blogs do you visit on a regular basis?
frankly, I'm really loving the LJ friends' page format. Blogger is by far the best for posting and maintaining your site, Wordpress is by far the best for gathering information about visitor stats, etc, and LJ is by far the best networking vehicle, at least for me, at least for now.
4. How many blogs do you comment on daily?
As many as I can on the days I sign on and read them.
5. How about comments? Do you (a) like them; (b) don't like them; or (c) can take them or leave them?
Love them. Best part of blogging is the give and take. I've seen some bloggers moan about how they can't get anyone to read their posts or comment, but then they never bother to respond to comments people do leave, or keep up a dialogue. I think that's the best part of the whole deal!
6. Are you able to blog from your job?
Uhmmm...
7. How many blogs do you write or contribute to?
3? More if you count zines.
You have a good excuse for slowing down the blogging, Camille, selling your stories left and right as you are. I totally agree with you on #5. When one takes the time to comment and one's host doesn't bother to acknowledge it, I see little point in continuing. Without the dialogue, there seems to be no point to it.
