At Long Last, Friday

Glitter Symbols - ImageChef.com
I don't have much to say today. I suppose you could say I'm sick and tired. There IS stuff I'm sick and tired of, but what I mean is that I've been sick but still worked all week and now I'm just bone-weary tired. I think that I may not do a single solitary damned thing all weekend except what I damn well want to do. I bought a buttload of books yesterday. I'll probably do them. Everything else can go jump off a cliff. I ain't doing it.

Here's a question I was wondering about. When people comment favorably on sites that could be perceived as in poor taste, trashy, controversial in a non thought-provoking way, or otherwise objectionable, do you think that lends tacit approval to it? What do you guys think?

And while you have your thinking caps on, what do you think about:
- The picture of the "man walking on Mars"
- Britney bolting from the courtroom -- again
- Amy Winehouse on the loose
- Bill & Hillary tag-teaming
- Drew Peterson and his lawyer staging a radio contest to "win a date with Drew." Good God, who in her right mind would want the "prize?"
- The government's newest "balm" plan; i.e., grease everyone's palms with a few bucks in hopes they'll forget about the bigger picture

TGIF and Happy Weekend, people.

- The picture of the "man walking on Mars"

Initially I thought it looked like a woman. Wait...is that my ex? This is great! I wanted her far away, but never knew she'd move to Mars!!! Wait...then again it doesn't look like her. It looks like a dancer spinning. I see her spinning clockwise because I have a "big picture" artistic brain but others see her spinning counter clockwise and some both. Hmmm...maybe its not a human at all; they don't have any cold weather clothing on and it's almost as cold as Minnesota there. Perhaps Martians are just playing with us...perhaps I've had too much caffine today...

- Britney bolting from the courtroom -- again

No, that was actually Britney on a new running kick. Her plan is to start a good long distance run from every courtroom she has to go to. A wise move considering her frequency to said place...she should be in shape in no time!

- Amy Winehouse on the loose

I think she should get another tattoo to feel better. That's obviously what is missing in her life

- Bill & Hillary tag-teaming

Bill has lots of experience tag teaming with females...

- Drew Peterson and his lawyer staging a radio contest to "win a date with Drew." Good God, who in her right mind would want the "prize?"

You could substitute Drew Carey...no, that's not much of an improvement either. Drew Barrymore? Sorry...I'm out of Drews...

Just give me the cash...I'll bitch later.

If its a site with the "qualities" you've indicated, I myself don't comment. I think any favorable comment is, as you say, tacit approval.

The picture of the "man walking on Mars": The picture "rocks".
Britney bolting from the courtroom -- again: I pay no more attention.
Amy Winehouse on the loose: Uhg, the girl's ugly. Now just let there be a Winehouse on the loose, different story.
Bill & Hillary tag-teaming: Go Clintons! I'd love to see her get the presidency.
Drew Peterson and his lawyer staging a radio contest to "win a date with Drew." Good God, who in her right mind would want the "prize?": I'm sure there's plenty of women who could handle him, of course, they can't go out with him, they're in the "big house."
The government's newest "balm" plan; i.e., grease everyone's palms with a few bucks in hopes they'll forget about the bigger picture: More checks written by the Republicans that will be blamed on the Democrats when its time to balance the budget. Nothing new.

TGIF and Happy Weekend, people.: "TGIF and Happy Weekend" I can get behind, "people" that may be a different matter...

The man on the moon was said best by someone else who said "We found Osama!"

Bill & Hillary tag-teaming- hello new nightmares. Monica....Monica!

hmm...i hadn't thought about it...but I won't go see that film 'i shot john lennon' for the same reason. yep...gonna make sure i don't comment on any dodgey websites.

there was a blogger i used to read and he raised a philosophical question and then I said I was in favour of forgiveness (he asked how people felt) and was absolute about it. He took on a personal attack towards me. I disengaged. Hard to argue with someone who won't argue back, so I stopped reading his blog or commenting - took the wind out of his sails.

Feel better honey!

All very valid points, VE. Don't be so quick to dismiss the ex's whereabouts; they adapt pretty quickly on Mars. If this is a "get fit" regimen on Britney's part, then I guess I'm all for it.:)

I know, Charles. Every pic I've seen of Winehouse is just ooga-booga ugly. Re Peterson, even if I were in the big house, I think I'd give him a pass. Ugh!:)

Oh, I'm not down, Kan; just in "thinking" mode. Look out! Your site's not trashy, kiddo. Whatchu talkin' about? Trash is as porn is to the Supreme Court -- you know it when you see it.:)

I did nothing BUT rest today, LW, so I'm off to a good start. LOL. Yeah, I'll take my check, too. We're all liable to pay for it somewhere down the road, but it will make a nice little fix in the here and now.:)

Hey, Leelee -- so far, so good. You have a good weekend, too, and HUGS back atcha.:)

You did the right thing, Pinks. If he was being pigheaded and unreasonable, cutting him off and deflating his sails was the only reasonable solution.:)

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder..
Whats one man's junk, is another man's treasure..
Jerry Falwell probably thinks My Blog is offensive.

Amy Winehouse has a great voice, and has checked into rehab!!

Get LOTS of rest Sherry..
xoxox

I'm taking your advice, G-man; been resting my butt off today. I'll have to check myself for moss tomorrow.:) After the crack pipe photos this week, I'd say Winehouse was ready for rehab.

If Falwell were alive, he wouldn't like me much, either.

Jerry Falwell is dead?

Sherry, book therapy is THE BEST! Nothing is as renewing as reading until you're sick of reading!

I think that it's interesting that the average American (including me) knows more about Britney Spears than we do about what our government is up to.

Love to you, my dear, and get some great literary healing done over the weekend!

Greeny,
That's not interesting, its sad, depressing and should be illegal, especially in the day and age of instant communications. Let's just look at what the PATRIOT Act (a misnomer to start, and then the truth) did. Supposedly, if necessary, GW can suspend elections and keep himself Prez. Who's vote counts then? Where's my rights? He's closer to a dictator than I ever want to see again.

Since last year, G.

I agree with you, Greeny, my dear, about the benefits of litarary therapy. And I'm doing just that today.

It is a sad fact, Charles, that our society seems somehow more geared toward pop culture than the inner workings of our government. It is perhaps an example of "Ostrich Syndrome."
