Miss Begotten is one of my pet names for myself, for Southern Gothic reasons best kept to myself. Miss Begotten tries to speak plainly, but sometimes she tends to babble -- parenthetically, of course. It's never my intention to offend (and usually that's true - except on those [maybe not so] rare occasions when I mean it very friggin' much) but it sometimes happens, so if you're unusually easily offended...

Serena's Saturday Jam
I chose today's Good Charlotte song for the title -- "Misery" -- because I have a pretty miserable cold. If you'd care to write me a limerick on the topic of sniffling and sneezing, I'd love to see it.
Morning SJ. I'll bring some hot tea with a touch of honey and, if that doesn't work, a shot of single barrel jack. One way or the other, we'll get you feeling better. :-D
Miserable cold, sniffle and sneeze, Bloody Mary, Honey and Jack, Sore red nose, too sore to squeeze, Cured by drink, no more hack, or a hacking cough from smoking leaves?
Wow, Tree is the guy to have around when you're sick for sure!!
Um....It's not a limerick, but it's well meaning. :)
Poor Serena sniffles and sneezes "Unacceptable!" she coughs and wheezes! She deserves a day tucked in bed Sipping a tonic made just for her head Hopefully she'll feel better soon And we'll find her dancing under the moon
I'll take all the fluffy pillows I can get, Trée. No chocolate, though; I'm a bit queasy. I did stick some warm camphor oil in my ear. I don't think it's Brazilian, but it feels pretty good.:)
Roxan! Where in the world did you find that? LMAO!:-)
Our dearest SJ's got the snots; She's been offered pillows, oils and shots: "No!" she snuffles. "Don't even want truffles! I'll just lie right here 'til I rots!"
...Ok, not one of my finer limerickal moments, but you hang in there pretty girl!
Poor Serena she's sore and she's 'ailin'.. Was even to sick to go sailin.. "I'll have to resort. to stay here in port".. And get my feet rubbed by someone named Galen!"

Serena- how about a Bloody Mary?? It is the weekend, and tomato juice is good for you...the vodka may help kill any cold germs!
I'm afraid I can't think up a limerick for sniffles and sneezes, but I did read a lovely poem about eye crust today.
Miserable cold, sniffle and sneeze,
Bloody Mary, Honey and Jack,
Sore red nose, too sore to squeeze,
Cured by drink, no more hack,
or a hacking cough from smoking leaves?
Eye crust? They're eye boogers, Rox.
I'm well aware of that, Char.
The poem, however, refers to them as eye crust.
Serena Joy's feeling sub-par
For misery she's raising the bar
She's snuffling and Sneezing
And coughing and wheezing
But still a complete superstar!
Thank you, Trée. I've heard that tea and honey (and yes, whiskey) are good for this crud.:)
Yours is a good suggestion, too, Rick. In fact, if I have enough Bloody Marys, I'll forget I'm sick, won't I?:)
Eye crud poetry will work, Roxan.:-)
And thank you, Charles and Camille, for the uplifting verses. Love them!:)

Feel better soon!!

p.s. And again, I LOVE Good Charlotte!! :) We are definitely musical soul mates!
I know, Snow -- Tre'e makes a very good caretaker.:) Thanks for the delightful "Sniffling" verse. This is such fun that we're musical soul mates.:)
Is it pillow fluffing time? I've got chocolate and warmed Brazilian oils.
You'll have to go look at the comments on my blog. The poem is posted there.

I found it on craigslist. The guy has more of them. Everyone there hates him. I think he's a genius. LOL

Roxan, I've found that there are lots of "geniuses" on craigslist. LOL!
Greeny, YOU are a genius. You've captured the essence of me today in your fine limerickal moment.:-)

Galen, if you'll give me a foot rub, I think I'll be able to leave port and go sailin'.:-)
