1. Are you morally opposed to telling a few little white lies to protect someone else's feelings?
Depends on the person. I suppose that answer alone means no I am not.

2. Do you consider yourself more conservative, liberal, or moderate?
A liberal conservative- I live a conservative life, but am liberal when it comes to everything else.

3. What do you think: did Larry Craig plead guilty because he was ill informed or because he was ... guilty? I think he did it, but only feels guilty about being caught. In that sense, he did not mean it when he said he was guilty.

4. Do you think marijuana should be legalized?
Oh my yes. That way adults can get it. Right now, only the kids have access. Ironic, huh?

5. What's your favorite dessert?
Ice cream cake with those little chocolate crunchies

6. How affected are you by advertising, i.e., compelled to buy because of it?

c) Rarely

7. Do you smoke? Yes and no.

8. Do you collect anything? If so, what? Movies and action figures. My desk at work right now has five Simpsons toys, two Star Wars, and a Grateful Dead bobblehead dancing bear. I will not get into what I got at home.

Serena said...

Kan, would you consider willing me the dancing bear? I'd be happy to send you an ice cream cake in return.:)

You already own me so naturally it is yours on my demise. No ideas though...

1. I'd answer this, but how do you know I'm telling the truth?
2. I've never stopped to consider myself at all. Sometimes I'm considerate to myself, does that count?
3. Who's Larry Craig? I should watch TV or read the paper some time. It's all so depressing though.
4. It already was (and for a very long time)...until the USA came along.
5. Ice cream bar with dark chocolate.
6. Act now and I'll send you two answers for the price of one. Don't delay, operators are standing by!
7. Only when my feet are too close to the campfire.
8. I have the largest collection of crayon boxes in the world. I also have almost the entire 1903 product line of Crayola. I also collect post cards and currency from every country/state I've visited.

Serena said...

Oh, yeah, Kan, I keep forgetting about the perks and privileges of ownership.:-)

I'm going to jump right on your #6 offer, VE. I don't even care what you're selling, as long as it's a bargain.:) The Crayola collection is cool! Larry Craig, BTW, is the latest Senate sex scandal.

1. Are you morally opposed to telling a few little white lies to protect someone else's feelings?
No. (Though, can you trust my answer?)

2. Do you consider yourself more conservative, liberal, or moderate?
I've become so confused by political advertising and spinning of fact and fiction, I haven't enough understanding of the meanings of those terms to answer. I will say I find the term conservative, when applied politically, an insult.

3. What do you think: did Larry Craig plead guilty because he was ill informed or because he was ... guilty?
Who cares. His politics are already so loathsome, I would rather dislike him simply for that. If people need to prove his hypocrisy in order to have a foundation for their own loathing, so be it. End result is end result.

4. Do you think marijuana should be legalized?
Sure. Whatever.

5. What's your favorite dessert?
Fresh Marzipan.

6. How affected are you by advertising, i.e., compelled to buy because of it?
a) Hugely
b) Occasionally
c) Rarely

I'm greatly affected in a manner contrary to what you mean: the more I'm bullied or told to buy something, the less likely I am to comply.

7. Do you smoke?
Not as a rule.

8. Do you collect anything? If so, what?
Antique butterfly wing jewelry, books authored by friends, paintings by artists in my own family.

1. Are you morally opposed to telling a few little white lies to protect someone else's feelings? I feel honesty is best, if there's something that might hurt an innocent, I might not tell everything I know.

2. Do you consider yourself more conservative, liberal, or moderate?
Of course.

3. What do you think: did Larry Craig plead guilty because he was ill informed or because he was ... guilty? Guilty by his own admission. Hypocrite.

4. Do you think marijuana should be legalized? Dude this is sooo... I wouldn't smoke it, I wouldn't want anybody I know to smoke it. But I don't think they need to be filling the jails with non-violent offenders, so I'll say yes.

5. What's your favorite dessert? Tiramisu; coffee, liquor, spongecake, cheese and chocolate, how can you go wrong?

6. How affected are you by advertising, i.e., compelled to buy because of it?
a) Hugely influenced to avoid/boycott the worst of advertisers' products.

7. Do you smoke? Do you spark?

8. Do you collect anything? If so, what? Yes, like a pack rat. Books, comics, some Action figures, years, memories, tools.

You Are 68% Good

You are a good person. You do the best you can to be ethical, fair, and moral.

Do I really have to do that last bit?

Serena said...

I always trust your answers, Camille. I agree with all the answers you gave today, too. Well, except #5. I've never been a big fan of marzipan. Love your delightful #8!

You gave good and insightful answers, too, Charles. I see a pattern emerging with the answers to #6. I think we could get a movement going here if we were so inclined. Charles is a pack rat. LOL. I wouldn't have predicted that one.

1. Are you morally opposed to telling a few little white lies to protect someone else's feelings?
I will always fib rather than hurt the feelings of someone I care about. I may lie by omission, because sometimes it truly is better to say nothing than to say something that might cause pain.

2. Do you consider yourself more conservative, liberal, or moderate?
Probably moderate with liberal leanings.

3. What do you think: did Larry Craig plead guilty because he was ill informed or because he was ... guilty?
He's a senator. He knows the law. I don't think he was that "confused."

4. Do you think marijuana should be legalized?
Yes.

5. What's your favorite dessert?
Strawberry shortcake -- and cheesecake.

6. How affected are you by advertising, i.e., compelled to buy because of it?
a) Hugely
b) Occasionally
c) Rarely
c - rarely. For the most part, advertising irritates me to the point where I'll go out of my way to buy something I haven't been saturated with ads for.

7. Do you smoke?
Yes.

8. Do you collect anything? If so, what?

I used to collect bells, then wind chimes, then flags, then elephants - yada-yada. Now I collect frogs. Little porcelain, glass, crystal, silver, etc., ones, I mean.

Hale McKay said...

1. NO. Sometimes you tell fibs not so much to protect another's feelings, but to protect your own life and limb. i.e., "No dear, that outfit does not make you look fat."

2. I guess I'm probably a ConLibErate. Depending on the issue I can think either way. I can easily play Devil's Advocate and make convincing arguments on most subjects.

3. Well, he was caught with his pants down. Does this mean the group "The Singing Senators" is going to break up?

4. Yes and No. I used to be dead set against it. Now, as I consider the epidemic of drug related problems, I'm leaning toward legalization. The government might as well TAX the users to death like they do on everything else.

5. Black Forest Chocolate Cake (NO icing, thank you.)

6. Somewhat. I'll remember an ad and see the product and sometimes buy it to try it, but only a spur of the moment impulse.

7. YES. Unfortunately

8. I collect jokes, cartoons and funny articles to use on my website. I am collecting the current run of U.S. State quarters and the Presidential dollars. So far I have 10 of each - 5 from the Denver Mint and 5 from Philadelphia.
(--Also I did amass a huge collection of magazines, memorabilia, and everything I could get my hands on about the Boston Red Sox' 2004 World Series championship - the first in 86 years.)

What the hey??

You are a fairly good person. You strive to live a moral life whenever possible.
You are usually kind, generous, and loyal. However, you do have a dark side that even you may not see.
When it comes down to ethical decisions, you tend to take the path of least resistance.
So you may end up lying, cheating, or engaging in other bad behavior... because it's just easier to do so.
You are also probably: Conflicted and confused about the current course of your life
Right now you are on track to being: A slightly crooked politician
To be a better person: Break one bad habit - whether it's telling white lies or spending too much money.

I truly don't think any of that is correct. Seriously, would anyone volunteer to spend time in jail for something that they accidentally did and weren't caught at? Really?

1. Are you morally opposed to telling a few little white lies to protect someone else's feelings?
No. But usually I try to find the positive in the situation so that I can honestly protect their feelings.

2. Do you consider yourself more conservative, liberal, or moderate?
Politically liberal, functionally I try to be conservative.

3. What do you think: did Larry Craig plead guilty because he was ill informed or because he was ... guilty? Who knows.

4. Do you think marijuana should be legalized?
Truthfully, I don't care. I suppose the argument could easily be made that if we as a country are going to facilitate (via Big Advertising and Big Tobacco and the like) people killing themselves with booze and food and tobacco, we might as well let them be happy with a little weed.

5. What's your favorite dessert?
Tira misu.

6. How affected are you by advertising, i.e., compelled to buy because of it?
I'd like to think I'm not, but I am. I don't watch TV so I miss all of that, but I do read catalogs and surf the web--and that's advertising sure as day.

I love your shirt, SJ. That's a very colorful, classy celebration of Thursday.

Oops...know you won't survive 'til morning without my last 2 answers...

7. I dont' smoke.

8. I don't formally collect anything, but I do like books and music.

Serena said...

Oooo, Mike, Black Forest cake. Yum! You definitely get the intent behind question #1. And your #8 doesn't surprise me at all. You must have the biggest collection in the Western world.:)

Me would have to say that me collects words and experiences.

I think that statement defines you, Scary. You are truly a man of wide and varied experiences. I always learn something from you.:)

Yeah, really, Greeny -- what the hey? You're one of the few people I know who has no dark side. Thanks for those excellent, very well thought out answers. You know what? I didn't know what tira misu was until I tried it very recently. I loved it! Thanks about the shirt; you can borrow it any time.:) Oh, and thanks for adding #7 and #8. You're so conscientious.

1. I am morally opposed to people having feelings.

2. I consider myself "Womens Liberal". I like women to be in charge, not only in the bedroom, but also in paying for the evening out.

3. I think I'm ill-informed about who Larry Craig is.

4. Um ... I think ... marijuana ... should ... Hey! Are you gonna eat all of those nachos?

5. Either type of pie.

6. I am convinced that attractive women will not be interested in me unless I purchase beer. Also, I have learned it's okay to have 2-clawfoot bathtubs side by side in the yard, a long as I'm taking Cialis. So, I will go with "rarely".

7. Only when I spontaneously combust.

8. Women's underwear. What else is there to entertain oneself at the laundrymat? I pretend I'm at the pet store picking new companions from the various tanks.

2. Do you consider yourself more conservative, liberal, or moderate? I go up and down the scale, depending on the situation.

3. What do you think: did Larry Craig plead guilty because he was ill informed or because he was ... guilty? Who is Larry Craig. I live under a rock.

4. Do you think marijuana should be legalized? yes

5. What's your favorite dessert? I could not choose if I had to. Right now I am hooked on the Jenny Craig Cheesecake. Yeah, it's that good.

6. How affected are you by advertising, i.e., compelled to buy because of it? None, because I live under a rock.

7. Do you smoke? No, but when I dream I smoke and when I visit my dead mother in my dreams we both have a little smoke.

8. Do you collect anything? If so, what? I collect stories I write and one socks that the dryer has lost the other one of.

Serena said...

LOL, Puggy. I may have to adopt you -- you know how fascinated I am by spontaneous combustion.:-)

Roxan, I think middle of the road and not rabid in either direction is the way to go. Blackberry cobbler - yummy!

G -- so when you get the munchies, you're up for raspberry or cherry cobbler? With vanilla ice cream on top? That's some fine eating!:)

You bet, /t. The very mention of Iron Butterfly brings back some fine, fond memories. Please forget the Q&A and take care of your nose. And be careful! Some things, like frogs and action figures, just shouldn't be smoked.:)

What kind of dolls did you collect, Mona? I know a woman who collects those Madame Alexander dolls. I'm glad you like my clothes. Thanks! You can borrow them, too.:)

CD, I think any kind of cheesecake is worth any amount of cajoling you have to go through to get it. I don't collect one-socks so much as the filter lint. Once again, I have things backwards, don't I? LOL.:)
