Thursday Q & A

Myspace Layouts

Sometimes, I really have nothing to say. And yeah, you know what happens then. I make you talk. Today is (another) one of those days.

1. If you had an opportunity to change careers and do something radically different than you're doing now, what would you do?

2. What's your preferred sleeping position?

3. What's your choice of sleep attire?

4. What was the last book you read?

5. What was the last CD you bought?

6. What was the last DVD you bought?

7. Do you prefer a laptop or a PC?

8. Are you called by your first name, middle name, or a nickname?

Charles nominated me for an Awesome Dude/Dudette Blogger award, for which I am most appreciative.

I'm supposed to nominate five more recipients, but -- I can't do it. I can't possibly choose only five, so I hereby nominate all of you.

Which action hero would you be?

You scored as Captain Jack Sparrow, Roguish,quick-witted, and incredibly lucky, Jack Sparrow is a pirate who sometimes ends up being a hero, against his better judgement. Captain Jack looks out for #1, but he can be counted on (usually) to do the right thing. He has an incredibly persuasive tongue, a mind that borders on genius or insanity, and an incredible talent for getting into trouble and getting out of it. Maybe its brains, maybe its genius, or maybe its just plain luck. Or maybe a mixture of all three.

Scared? You? Not really. Everyone has a few normal phobias, and you're no exception.
It's okay to be afraid of a few things. You wouldn't be human if you weren't.

LOL, Charles. I kind of had to get it done before noon since I'm planning on leaving here (work) around noon.

So, you really prefer a PC? I'm permanently switched to laptop myself. I can't stand all the cables with a PC, and it takes up too much room.

Charles said...

Of course, its hard to get as many hard drives in a laptop. Its much easier to get into and out of, I can upgrade the processor, put in additional cards, and I don't have to worry about the proprietary drivers for the computer to work.
Plus with a laptop, I can't wreak my knee as easily.

Serena Joy said...

There are 2 hard drives in my newer laptop, but I only need one. You probably do a lot more with your computer than I do, so I have everything I need in my little one.

HHNT
Looks like blogger messed with your post, big space in the middle and a picture didn't post.
I keep getting an script error message, is that me?

Serena Joy said...

Thanks about the HNT, TC. I sleep on my side, too. It's the only way I can sleep. Porcupine Tree? I don't know them.

I don't know what's with the whopping big spaces. They will NOT come out. I don't know if it's Blogger or the quiz code. And script errors, I have no clue about. I'll bet Charles knows what they are and what causes them. If you stop by, Charles, any advice about that?

Roxan said...

I scored both Jack Sparrow and Maximus at 79%. What does that mean? I'm a rum drinking, shield carrying beach bum? LOL

Serena Joy said...

I don't even know who Maximus is, Roxan, but shoot, sounds like a pretty good gig.:-)

Charles said...

That would be the 46! <br>s (no not 46 factorial, 46 surprise.)

Serena Joy said...

Now I'm REALLY lost. What is 46?

Charles said...

SJ,
You're feigning that mathematically challenged thing again, I see. Its the number of break tags that's causing your larger white space. Just go into Edit, change to the HTML view, and find "of all three." Hold down SHIFT and use the down arrow key until you get to "Captain Jack Sparrow" you should see it start to highlight, when you do, back off using the left arrow key, then hit Enter and publish it. Check your work.

Charles said...

stop

Charles said...

I should have said put your cursor behind the "of all three." then continue with my instructions.

Charles said...

Let me know if you need help. We could temporarily make me an admin and remove me when I was done. It would only take a minute or so to fix it.

Serena Joy said...

Let me know if you need help. We could temporarily make me an admin and remove me when I was done. It would only take a minute or so to fix it.

Let's do that. It'll take me forever to spot all the break tags. Is there an addy on your site I can use to let you in?

Serena Joy said...

Done.

Charles said...

Ok. Now you'll need to change the permissions to admin for me. Otherwise I could post, but I can't yet edit. I can remove myself afterwards.

Serena Joy said...

You're showing as an admin. Try it again and let me know if you still don't have access.

Thank you for doing this.

Roxan said...

I don't know what 46 is, but I believe the meaning of life is 42.

Serena Joy said...

I disagree. I've always believed the meaning of life can be found in 86.:-)

Charles said...

I'm even having some problems with this, even though there is nothing between where I told you the stuff was, its still doing it. It has something to do with the tables the statistics are in. I may need to look at the template. I'll find out what's going on though.

Serena Joy said...

Earlier today, I edited it myself four or five times and it never would take. Listen, don't worry too much about it. If it's going to be a big pain to fix, we might as well leave it alone. It looks ridiculous, but there'll be a new post tomorrow and that one will be history. Again, thank you so much for giving it a go.

Charles said...

Sorry SJ, I couldn't get it to work right, the CSS or something is wacking out on the tables code. It acts like its putting line breaks for each cell of the table. I couldn't seem to get it to work right. I've removed myself, I'll see if I can find anything about this problem in Blogger's help. I already removed myself from the admin.

Serena Joy said...

Thanks so much for trying, Charles. I really appreciate it. I think that in the future I won't use quizzes from those sources again. They're entirely more trouble than they're worth. You're a real sweetie for taking the time to troubleshoot it.

8. First name. Fortunately, my parents had foresight and named me Dick.

Serena Joy said...

Thanks for that, Charles. I went in and made that adjustment and -- nada. It didn't faze it. Oh, well. We tried.

Isn't that ironic, T? I'd like to be a cop, too. Or, even better, a PI. I sleep in boxers sometimes, but probably not the same kind you do.:-)

Why do I not think your parents named you that? Not that there aren't a lot of Dicks running around. I should know. I yell at a lot of them by name daily.:-)

This new blogger causes a lot of problem.
I can remember everything I did in compose was exactly the same in preview but now stuff is all over the place.
I had mucho trouble with my July 4th post, it saved and then I couldn't make any changes to it.

I wish they had a Blogspot blog where we could go in and make suggestions and have some interaction with these people.
For instance I would like to have the option of adding the date to the post.
Now if you draft on a Tuesday and post it on Wednesday it shows up as a Tuesday post.
tc

Serena Joy said...

TC, I'm not sure what's going on with some of the problems you mentioned. I CAN, however, tell you how to change the date. At the bottom of your post, you'll see a link for "Post Options." Click it, and simply change the date and/or time over on the right.

"16% Phobic
Wow, you're scared of very little. And you're always conquering new fears that come up. Have you considered a career as a stunt double? You should at least go on one of those crazy reality shows where you eat bugs!"

Um, I said I wasn't afraid of them, not that I'd be willing to put them in my mouth. Those are two very different things.

Okay, but just to warn you, the Pug is in a raunchy mood.

Serena Joy said...

Oh, man, Seeley, I am learning so much from you guys. I've never seen 'The Man With the Screaming Brain.' Keeping in mind that I'm squeamish, should I see it?

I wouldn't eat bugs, either, although I'm not scared of them. Unless they're really big. Ewww!

Pug in a raunchy mood is my favorite kind of Pug. I might volunteer for your on-the-job training if you'll burn me a copy of "William Hung Sings Xmas Favorites." I haven't read the book; how DID O.J. do it?

Oh, geez, Pug, a KNIFE?! I don't know about that. I mean, the vics were nearly decapped. I think it was poison. See why I should have been a cop?

T! We could compare pink boxers, see whose are the prettiest. I'm going to be really jealous if you have better legs, though. When I get there, can we call "Brown"?:-)

Good Lord, Pinks, you majored in Nuclear Physics?! I barely passed high school Physics. LOL. You are one smart chickie. Of course, I always knew that. Please! Use the words to describe the DVD. I'm trying really hard to get an "R" or "NC-17" rating here. I'm not putting up a chickenshit PG-13 button.:-)

Leelee, once your vacation is over, I think you should take Hubs home, rent the house in the Keys again, and schedule an All-Girls Week. I'll come, and I'll bet the rest of the gang will, too.

I don't know how you back sleepers do it. I can't fall asleep on my back. I've clawed my way onto my side with 62-zillion staples holding me together. LOL.

Trée said...

Hours and minutes. Light on the salt if I remember correctly. Would you like some lotion on your back?

Serena Joy said...

Light on the salt, yes. A good memory is essential for a cabana boy. I won't need the lotion as long as you don't let the umbrella slip.:)

Hey, it's nice to see you, Dan. And it was nice to see your HNT - oh, yes, indeed.:) You're sleeping in "just" a tee-shirt? You know, you have to think about fire, earthquake, and home invasion. These things often happen at night.
