Let's Talk About ... You

It's Saturday and we're all (I hope!) wound down, laid back, and relaxed. It's a good day to talk about -- you. This isn't a quiz; there will be no wacky results at the end. This is just you, talking to me.

1. Why do you blog?
2. What are you currently reading?
3. What do you do for the pure relaxation of it?
4. What's the worst problem you've ever encountered as a blogger?
5. How'd you sleep last night?
6. Do you have a pet? If so, what species?
7. If you could meet one famous person currently living, who would it be? You can say why if you wish; you don't have to.
8. What's your favorite currently popular song?
9. What's your favorite (1) everyday food and (2) comfort food?
10. What are you going to do for the rest of the day?

This is a ... painting. Keep it, or toss it?

Raw and unvarnished on a Saturday morning

Have a terrific Saturday!

Too much fun and laughter is a problem, Scary? We should all be so lucky. Sorry you slept so badly last night but, hey, the game is coming! Whiskey as a food group? LOL!

I love reading other peoples' thoughts, too, TC. And it's funny how comments often end up being more fun than the actual posts. On the other hand, it IS very easy for misunderstandings to arise. When you have only the written word to rely on, without expressions and body language, it can get misconstrued. (Mashed) potatoes as comfort food -- yeah!:)

All right, Roxan -- another mashed potatoes girl. Oooo, you're going to Sonic today. I had one of their BLTs last week -- yum! If that's what you think the picture is, then that is what it is.:)

I don't know what I think it looks like, but I do think it would not be in my house. LOL
Sonic no longer makes tenderloin sandwiches. At least not the ones around here. Sigh.

5. How'd you sleep last night?

I don't know. I was asleep.

6. Do you have a pet? If so, what species?

Human. She really doesn't mind the leather, restraints, or the box that she has to stay in when I go out.

None of your beeswax, Gladys Cravitz! Oops. Sorry to get all "defensive". I'm going to go have some fun, do some work, and take the occasional blogging break.

p.s. - WHERE are YOUR answers?

puerileuwaite said...

BTW, the picture should go (unless it has sentimental value).

And I'm declaring "Shenanigans" on Scary for finding out in advance how I was going to answer Question #2 and commenting ahead of me. I have raised my security level to "Orange" until Scary ceases his brand of terrorism.

Serena said...

It's okay to name names, Puggy, as long as it's not mine.:) And you can say "prick." I do at least 10 times a day. I really must object to your pet's restraints. I would think the box would be sufficient. I like oatmeal, and I like it even better with whipped cream on it.:) I think I agree about the picture; it's long since outlived its usefulness.

I didn't do my answers because this is about YOU. But okay, just to keep things on an even keel, I'll do it.

1. Why do you blog?
To acclimate myself to it. I think it's rapidly becoming an absolute necessity in the writing/publishing/art scenes.

2. What are you currently reading?
Year's Best Fantasy and Horror, 1990 (for review)

3. What do you do for the pure relaxation of it?
Thrift-store shopping. If I can't do that, then drinking wine and sashaying about my living room to Blossom Dearie.

4. What's the worst problem you've ever encountered as a blogger?
A fellow reviewer sent me an e-mail objecting to her name being included (in a direct quote from the GMR site) on my blogpost with the young man in the kilt. She indicated it damaged her delicate sensibilities and professional reputation to be mentioned on my post.

5. How'd you sleep last night?
After a long period (couple years) of insomnia, I've been sleeping fantastically lately.

6. Do you have a pet? If so, what species?
You've seen them. L & R dogs--or, as we sometimes call them around here, Peanut Butter & Jelly.
(names have been changed to protect the guilty)

7. If you could meet one famous person currently living, who would it be? You can say why if you wish; you don't have to.
I wouldn't want to meet a famous person just because she was famous. That just doesn't seem like enough of a conversation starter, to me.

8. What's your favorite currently popular song?
Uhmmm...

9. What's your favorite (1) everyday food and (2) comfort food?
1) cereal & soymilk 2)tofu pups sliced into medallions and fried in olive oil, mixed into a vat of Annie's Mac & Cheese

10. What are you going to do for the rest of the day?
Walk Peanut Butter & Jelly, grocery shop w/S, probably write. Clean house.

Roxan, what's a tenderloin sandwich?

Hi, Mona, it's so nice to see you! I have to confess I was thinking GWB for #7, too, so I could ask HIM what's wrong with him. LOL. I wish I had (1) a personal masseur and (2) the perseverance to stick with a Yoga program for relaxation.

What are boiled sweets? Is this something native to India?

Serena said...

I agree with you on #1, Littlebird. Any more, you're practically ignored if you don't have some sort of Web presence. I love thrift-store shopping, too. One of my favorite dresses is vintage thrift-store. I adore sashaying, too. And I'll bet you big bucks we do it better than RuPaul on his best day.:) ALL the tofu is yours, my dear; I can't abide the stuff.

Since the picture of the painting has glare I can't see who it was painted by, I suggest you donate it to charity. Art should never be tossed away in my humble opinion. =)

are you folks sure you would like to meet GWB? I would think having to listen to his answer as to what's wrong with him would leave you frustrated and confused.
Besides mashed potatoes I like to make homemade potato soup with american cheese in it. It's also a great comfort food.

Serena said...

That actually looks pretty good, Roxan. And don't worry, I never eat a sandwich that has catsup on it.

Hey, Rain, good to see you. Very nice answers. Blogging IS therapeutic, which is sort of in keeping with the answer I gave. LOL. Those dogs of yours sound like cuties. Maggie Thatcher, yeah, I wouldn't mind meeting her. She's one smart, together woman. Oh, Lord yes, cheesecake is definitely worth killing over.:)

You have a point, TC. I'm sure he'd be unable to specify what's wrong with him, if he could even understand the question. Yep, I'd get so frustrated I'd end up getting arrested by the Secret Service. I do tend to smack dumbbells. Your potato soup with cheese sounds wonderful. You will FedEx me a pot, won't you?:)

I blog not only because I enjoy doing so and have met some really nice folk through blogging, but it's a good outlet and practice for my writing "skills" or non-skills!

I'm currently read lots of things but mainly on everything about this new laptop of mine.

No problems...so far

Like a baby

Two cats.

David Bowie

Haven't a clue

Fruit probably...but I like most things...it all depends on the time and mood...at present it is the aroma of a garlic and rosemary studded leg of lamb in my oven.

Eat my roast lamb and vegetables and watch a couple of movies.

Serena said...

T, you're just now eating dinner?! If you get shrimp lo mein, you have to share. Ditto the Thorazine. I've had stalkers. I think they're gone now, but you can never be sure, never let your guard down. That pretty much sucks. What we need here is a Stalker Hit Squad. Anybody who can shoot straight is in. Blogging does require some discipline (no, not that kind) to get us to do it regularly. Every little bit helps.

I agree, Lee, blogging is also a good outlet. I mean, who else is going to listen to some of what we have to say? The dogs will, but they're not so good at feedback. It's already mid-Sunday there, isn't it? Enjoy your lamb. I like most fruits, but not lamb. That's all yours.:-)

8. What's your favorite currently popular song? "Transformer" by Gnarls Barkley.

Mike, I don't know what bright-eyed and busy-tailed means, either. I mean, are we supposed to get up impersonating squirrels? Oh, wow, Stephen Hawking -- yes! Just to have 15 minutes to sit and talk with him... I'm with you on the cheeseburgers; not so much the meatloaf.:-)
