Princess Dragon Butt...

...which sounds better than Princess Dragging Ass.

Why is it always so hard to get back into the swing of work-related things after a long holiday weekend? I'm dragging a little bit today. That's not really conducive to everything I have to do. I'm not really tired; not physically, anyway. I wouldn't rather be at home. I'm not philosophically opposed to work. I just feel kind of -- inert. Sort of like a lump of protoplasm, wandering aimlessly through my workload, wondering, "Huh?" It's probably the imminent Blue Moon at work, don't you think?

It's pretty hot and very humid today. We had a strong thunder-buster yesterday afternoon that helped to dissipate some of the humidity, but the effects didn't last long. There may be another one this afternoon; it's looking sort of hit or miss. Yesterday's storm sent the doggie back into her hidey-hole. She's terrified of thunder. I love a good storm myself, though I do have my lightning moments.

It was a deadly holiday weekend around here -- seven people dead in local wrecks. The worst accident was caused by swerving to avoid a deer on the interstate. That's a real problem on all the roads around here.

TWISTED LINGUISTICS

presbaterian
when I wasn't no longer with them
contrubuter

Well. I am at a loss. Would anyone care to explore the etymology of these Words Gone Wild and perhaps take a crack at defining them?

Boudreaux decided to buy Marie a new car for her birthday. They shopped and shopped. Finally, Marie found one she liked. But before signing thepapers, Marie looked at the car one more time.

Suddenly, she bristled and walked away, saying she didn't want the car. She wouldn't even talk about it.

On the way home, Boudreaux said, "Marie, I thot ya liked dat car. What changed yo mind, cher?"

I don't want any car wit XL on it," Marie answered. "It's bad enuff havin' dat on my underwear!"

What People Think of Your Mouth

People see you both as reserved and sweet.
You tend to be very sensitive and detail oriented.
The smallest things can please or annoy you. You tend to be internally moody.
Perceptive and intuitive, you understand people quickly - though you usually won't tell them.

P.S. -- Are any of you (besides Roxan) Dr. Who fans? If so, I'll tell you why I'm asking.

I do have to admit that age has given me my lips as they as now. They used to be more pouty when I was younger. Thankfully, they thinned out. LOL

the day following a holiday is always kinda blah! I think I read somewhere there are usually more accidents too.

presbaterian is one who studies presba which is the lowest level of a kasbah.

I think we all must have small mouths or this quiz gives the same answer to everyone.lol
Love your pic today.

Cute joke. Told you when you were complaining about the cold that you would hate the heat. The drama at work is almost past. I cannot wait to regain my sense of humor. Amazing how work can kill that sense sometimes.

I used to have pouty lips, too, Roxan. I think I liked them better. LOL.

Yep, that defines it, TC -- blah.

Oh, THAT'S what a presba is. Thank God you knew.:) I guess we'll just have to wait and see whether somebody has big lips or whether the quiz is a big fat liar. Glad you enjoyed the pic of Serena in a Daze. LOL.

Kan, you know me too well. You already know the "hot" bitching has only just begun, don't you? LOL. I'm glad your work drama is almost at an end. I'll be glad when you're back in full swing and in the thick of things. You KNOW I'm dying to talk about Lindsay, don't you?:)

Hello.

The mouth questionnaire ascertained with only one question that people see me as both demanding and irresistible.

I find this sociologically suspect and a little hard to believe. :)

It's funny. Whenever I visit Kentucky people always say that I've got a pretty mouth.

Serena said...

Then you lucked out, Winters. I'd much prefer demanding and irresistible to sickening sweet. LOL. It is, of course, quite sociologically suspect.:)

I get that a lot, too, TFG. It probably bothers you more.:)

I have a little mouth; considering that, it's amazing what-all comes out of it sometimes...

I felt blah, too. Being on vacation reminds me of why I'd rather not work. Always hard to go back once you remember how much fun it is not to!

It IS amazing, Greeny, that a few well chosen words out of the small mouths of small women can move mountains. And other deadwood and assorted inert objects. LOL.

It is nice to not have to get up at a certain time, get dressed, and go to work. Kind of makes me wish I were independently wealthy.:)

I was a fan of the 70's version of Dr. Who.

It looks like we will have to spend our date after the Prom introducing you to Deliverance.

I don't know one version of Dr. Who from another, Puggy. There's now a Dr. Who forum on the Write Here... board, though, for anybody who wants to participate. I'm sort of taking a crash course. I had no idea what the hell a TARDIS was 'til about 2 days ago.:)

So, that's where we're going, T? Kentucky? You'll protect me, won't you? I saw Deliverance and I'll be very scared.:)

Can't sleep for thinking about these:

presbaterian - someone who hits the president on the head with a baseball bat whenever he says something stupid

when I wasn't no longer with them - when I was still there

contrubuter - someone who donates tubers to his local charity

Thank you so much, Greeny. I just spit half-chewed Oreos all over myself. ROTFL! I love all of your definitions, but I can't stop thinking about how busy that poor presbaterian must stay. You rock as a twisted linguist. Now I have to clean up this yucky Oreo paste.:)

I used to watch the old original British version of Dr. Who. I have watched some of the current version on the SciFi channel. I'm not a die-hard fan though.

After that network made a mockery of the original "Battlestar Galactica" with it's current silly and insulting version, I was leery of giving Dr. Who a chance. But it isn't too bad.

Serena said...

At least you're familiar with it, Mike. I'm beginning to feel like a Philistine. LOL. If Roxan will remind me next time it's on, I'll watch it.

You know, I've been pondering on one of those Words Gone Wild, and I'm thinking a contrubuter may well be the bastard child of a conquistador and a troubadour.
