Miss Begotten is one of my pet names for myself, for Southern Gothic reasons best kept to myself. Miss Begotten tries to speak plainly, but sometimes she tends to babble -- parenthetically, of course. It's never my intention to offend (and usually that's true - except on those [maybe not so] rare occasions when I mean it very friggin' much) but it sometimes happens, so if you're unusually easily offended...

5 of the stupidest things I've ever done:

Today's Twisted Linguistics review
not every book is going to sale - This is technically a true statement. Many books will sell and therefore won't go to the sale table.
happyer - A contented emergency medicine department. Also describes a person who works there; e.g., the Happy ER is staffed by happyers.
negotitate - Throwing up the bad words in a manuscript you contracted to read.
inavertance - A word that may have been included in the original draft of "In-a-Gadda-Da-Vida."
taken an active roll - Someone who enthusiastically indulged in certain illicit activities.

taken an active roll
This isn't related to that new "animated croissants" phenomenon I've read about? I hear would-be diners have to carry small nets in their pockets to ensnare reluctant bundles of carbohydrate matter.
You know, I had forgotten all about this new dough-hunting phenomenon. That may well be what it is. I've heard that the less yeast is in them, the harder they are to catch.
SJ
Yeah. That's just the way they roll, yo?
Yup, though they're pretty complacent as long as you remind them on which side they're buttered. Most of them, the very sight of a butter knife is enough to make them shape up and quit that feckless rolling.
Why did I find the "5 sins" part so interesting?
What sin is that?
Swearing? - NO;
Gossip? - NO, (at least if I don't spread it);
Gluttony? - NO;
Lust? - NO;
Envy? - NO;
Ah, yes - Nosy!
For some strange reason, "In-a-Gadda-Da-Vida" is bouncing around inside my skull.
Well, at least it supplanted "Alley Oop" which was in there because of my own latest post.
Mike, you probably found that interesting because the possibility of sin is infinitely more interesting than saintliness. I know, those are pretty nothing sins. If I have committed any big-time sins, y'all won't be hearing about it. LOL.
I see what you mean about 'Alley Oop.' I've been bouncing around 'In-a-Gadda-Da-Vida' all evening; now it's switched to 'Alley Oop.' Don't you love ear worms?
Hi Serena! Just over here saying hi to ya. Hope you're doing well...and I'll be back more often!
You have a new blog? super. I know I'm late to the party but I hope that everything goes well with it. I'll head over there and check it out. If it's half as good as this one you are an assures success.
Oh, Yeah, Make sure you try skydiving. It's fanfuckintastic!!!
I wrote about it here: http://thenyd.blogspot.com/2006/02/learning-to-fly.html it's not a great post but you can get an idea of just how fun it is.
ack! assured success.
Dang, done it again...
Nice list. Good luck on the things you want to do.
I might suggest another way to write this; "Also describes a person who works there; e.g., the Happy ER is staffed by happyers."
The Happy ER is staffed by happyerers.
Hi, Dorothy! I've been so remiss in getting by to see everyone. I'll try to do better.
Thanks, NYD. About the sky-diving -- I WANT to do it, but fortune cookie say chances slim she ever do it. LOL.
Hey, Jack, you're right; I like your way better.:)
