Miss Begotten is one of my pet names for myself, for Southern Gothic reasons best kept to myself. Miss Begotten tries to speak plainly, but sometimes she tends to babble -- parenthetically, of course. It's never my intention to offend (and usually that's true - except on those [maybe not so] rare occasions when I mean it very friggin' much) but it sometimes happens, so if you're unusually easily offended...

Anna Nicole Smith Dead
Anna Nicole Smith died today in Florida after collapsing at a hotel, one of her lawyers has announced -- not Howard Stern, her lawyer/lover/putative father of her 5-month-old daughter. No cause of death has been speculated about.
Anna Nicole, 39, collapsed and was unresponsive while staying at the Seminole Hard Rock Cafe Hotel and Casino and was rushed to an area hospital.
She'd been at the hotel since Monday and was to have checked out tomorrow.
Anna Nicole was born Vickie Lynn Hogan on November 28, 1967, in Houston, Texas. She married Bill Smith in 1985, and gave birth to a son, Daniel, before divorcing two years later. Daniel, you will recall, died in the Bahamas in September. It's very sad to think about what will now happen to the baby girl. Anna Nicole was almost a caricature, and the butt of a lot of jokes, but it's shocking that she would die so young.

This one will keep people busy for years I think.
Was it an overdoes?
Suicide?
If so,why?
Murder?
Was it her late-husband's family?
Failed health?
Faked it?
The news is reporting drug overdose. But they're also saying she was traveling with a private nurse and speculating that she was ill. With all the stuff she's been involved in, though, I'm sure the theories will fly about murder and faking it.
I agree with you, Serena...her death is sad...it's not for us to judge her lifestyle...she didn't murder anyone...her 'crime' in the eyes of many was marrying a very elderly, very rich man...but she didn't hold a gun to his head and force him into doing so. From all accounts, she made an old guy happy...where's the crime in that...so he left her his money...it's all part of the rich tapestry of this life we're part of...she was a mother...and no matter what, it appeared she loved her children. I don't wish ill upon her memory. She apparently had pneumonia a couple of days ago, too...not much has come out yet, even at the press conference a while ago. I reckon her depression levels would have been rock bottom as well.
It's another mystery, like her son's death, her daughter's paternity.
The first thing that I thought was it must have been hard for her to go on after losing her son.
'Vickie Lynn Hogan' sounds VERY Houston. I don't know if that makes sense to anyody who didn't grow up near there.
A quickie as I'm in work. Just had an email saying this:
"They are running a pole today which asks ..."
Straight away thought of you!
Finished work early as it's snowing!!
Don't know much about her. She's the one who married the old man though, isn't she? Sad to die so young whatever.
Liz, can I grab that "pole" and run with it? LOL.
Yes, she's the one who married the elderly rich man. I think his heirs are still fighting about the fortune he left her. Her life was a train wreck, but it's sad the way it's ended so prematurely.
So sad. What is even sadder now is this big battle over her tiny child. I was sitting at home wondering why these people are fighting so untypically hard over custody of the baby. Then the news mentioned the 475 million dollar inheritance and the baby is heir. The whole situation is tragic. Tragic someone like that is promoted to the limelight rather than getting the help they need. Tragic her life ends alone probably in her own vomit when she pays an entourage to escort her about, including a private nurse. Where the dickens was she? Frankly, I liked the girl. Don't ask me why. Maybe because she was so brazen and unapologetic. I'm sad to see her end up like this with the final photos of her in a bag going in a side door of a gray building like some sort of prepackaged table lamp bought at KMart.
I had just called her to break it off. I'm sure that was just a coincidence though.
I think, CD, that it's a case of an ordinary girl with big dreams, who actually GOT those big dreams but was dreadfully ill-prepared to cope with the reality of them. I think that when you're completely overwhelmed, and being overwhelmed in the public limelight, your life can quickly turn into a train wreck. It's almost anti-climactic that now she's gone and here's this baby daughter, an heiress if the court judgment stands, being fought over by a bunch of men with dollar signs in their eyes. Now Zsa Zsa Gabor's husband has jumped into the fray, claiming that HE's the baby's father. Is that wild or what?
Pug, you dog. Are YOU that baby daddy?:)
My guess would be the court will step in and assign a trustee and an attorney for the baby to protect her.
They showed a picture of the baby with Anna Nicole. Baby looks like Howard K Stern, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything.
