Coming down the stairs with the dog yesterday morning, this amazing specimen of a fellow clinging to the wall immediately caught my eye.
It's hard to tell from the photo, but he was a good 4 inches long and much greener than he looks here. Thank goodness the dog didn't notice him. She'd probably have tried to eat him. I think it's probably mondo bad luck or something to eat a praying mantis. We don't need that. Plus, he's too cute to meet such an ignominious end.

The other bugs probably don't think he's so cute. LOL
Like your dog, my cats would probably enjoy the little bug too.
Oh go check out my blog. I have the cover for the new book up.
They're the friends of the garden.
Oh, for sure, Roxan -- no self-respecting cat would have left that little guy alone. Hey, I saw your cover the other day and left you a comment about how much I liked it. Whoever did the artwork for you is great!
They are, indeed, Lee. And cute to boot.:)
I figured it was only a matter of time until your place was surrounded by a prayer circle. I'm just bummed because I thought I had more time before you were forced to repent.
Well, they keep trying, Pugsley, but I haven't repented yet.;)
Pius little Buggers aren't they?
With all that praying going on, Mr. G-man, piety is probably a given.:)
I did see your comment and thanks. The cover was done by Dark Dawn Creations and she's very good. She's also extremely reasonably priced and I highly recommend her.
She did a terrific job, Roxan. Next time I get my butt in gear and finish up what I started, I may be asking you for her contact info.
Had the dog tried to eat it, the prayer probably would have turned much more malevolent ;-)
I expect you're right, Skunk. We don't need any bad mojo around here.;)
Cute little (?) bug!
Got geckos all over the place this summer!

Aww! I love geckos, Quid.:)
