Guilty as Sin

myspace layout codes

The 7 Deadly Sins:

Pride
Envy
Gluttony
Lust
Anger
Greed
Sloth

I know I'm guilty of pretty much everything on that list at least once a day. Sloth is probably my weakest area, followed most closely perhaps by Anger. Gluttony is a problem on those days when I'm really stressed and tend to binge on comfort foods. I'm really, really pleased to say that I'm rarely guilty of Envy, Lust, Greed, or Pride. That's not prideful of me to say, is it? Okay, I'm rarely guilty of most of those items. I'll leave it up to your imagination to figure out which one(s) can reach out and grab me.

Things tend to change at warp speed. You don't have to study a lot of woo-woo science to know that. Sometimes, change is good; other times, not so much. When changes are for the better, though, it can be uplifting; indeed, life-changing. Of course, the not so good changes are also life-altering. When that unfolds in a good way, it's a very good thing. The key is to find a balance between the two and, no matter what happens, make the best of it. When your Yin counter-balances your Yang, life is good and your Feng Shui is pretty near perfect. That ain't no small potatoes.

My Feng Shui (or maybe it's my Yin) needs work. I'm going to try to go and sin a little less (although what I consider sin doesn't necessarily agree with your friendly neighborhood preacher's opinion) and ignore that little voice in my head singing, "If you wanna get to heaven, you gotta raise a little hell." Oops, I think I just sinned a tad. I may have told a little lie. No way am I going to ignore that little voice! A little hell-raisin' never hurt anybody.

Here's some hell-raising blasfomys that TWISTED LINGUISTICS dug up for your Thursday pleasure.

scarry, isn't it? - What an insensitive person might ask an accident victim.

actiley - When cornered, make like a piece of tile.

aggrogrant - Money handed out to arrogant serfs to convince them to grow more crops.

the gaul to ask pertinant questions - Inquisition by an illiterate Frenchman.

can I get some feet back on this point?
bebates
talknig
broken contrats
royalites
lopped sided
distrubed

can I get some feet back on this point? - would you please give me a swift kick in the butt for being so stupid?

bebates - the money you get refunded if you don't like the be-bop music.

talknig - talking, but getting it all backwards.

broken contrats - the swindling rodents finally succumbed to interrogation.

royalites - minor princes.

lopped sided - not just cut off, but blindsided, too.

distrubed - trained s.o. not to act like a rube.

The 7 Deadly Sins are fun! Like Oscar Wilde I can resist everything except temptation. ;o)

Funny definitions, Bilbo.:-)

Hey, Clive. Apparently, I'm in the Wilde crowd, too; I find temptation VERY hard to resist.:-)

This post has ANGERED me because I am ENVIOUS. I LUST after your good prose; GREEDY to steal the idea and be GLUTTONEOUS on it myself. But I won’t because I PRIDE myself on being a SLOTH.

Damn it, VE, I am angry that you have led me back into sin. I am so prideful that I was able to provoke you into envy that I'm now lusting after some gluttony, after which I will no doubt collapse on the sofa like a sloth.

Some think they are sins, but for me they are the commandments.
Now if I can get my feng straightened out I'm pretty sure that when yin meets yang there will be a wang dang doodle of a good time.

I hear 'ya, NYD. In fact, I'd almost be willing to sacrifice my Yin for one of those wang dang doodle good times.:-)

Oh, goodie, Galen -- new sins? We'd better go root 'em out. You crack the whip, I'll carry the holy water.:-)

bebates : Do not abate. BE there!

talknig : Talk like a black man ( nigger) ( Yikes! I should not be using that word!)

broken contrats : Country rats, who were broke ( because of famine)

royalites : people who were loyal to the royals

lopped sided : first pushed over, then pushed aside

distrubed : a district, rubbed and squeaky cleaned

Serena, I do indulge in all of them in moderation & at few times in extremes too, but why am I not guilty?

Don't forget the 11th Commandment:-
Thou shallt not get caught.

Guilty as charged to varied degrees, on all listed sins; at least I'm not guilty of the oft-suppressed 8th deadly sin: internalizing audible flatulence.

I do have my limits ;)
