Some of you may or may not have noticed that I didn't visit you yesterday (Friday). It wasn't because I didn't want to. It was because I kept running into a new Blogger "error" on most of the blogs I tried to access, including ONE OF MY OWN. I've put up with submitting to the "verification process" when I want to use Google's language translator. They've been making me do that because they claim that the phrase I wanted to translate looked like something a spammer would want to know. Makes no sense to me, but what do I know? This latest BS is, however, intolerable. The error message I keep getting looks like this:
Google Error
We're sorry...
... but your query looks similar to automated requests from a computer virus or spyware application. To protect our users, we can't process your request right now.
We'll restore your access as quickly as possible, so try again soon. In the meantime, if you suspect that your computer or network has been infected, you might want to run a virus checker or spyware remover to make sure that your systems are free of
viruses and other spurious software.
If you're continually receiving this error, you may be able to resolve the problem by deleting your Google cookie and revisiting Google. For browser-specific instructions, please consult your browser's online support center.
If your entire network is affected, more information is available in the Google Web Search Help Center.
We apologize for the inconvenience, and hope we'll see you again on Google.
If they don't hurry up and do something about this and take steps to ensure that it doesn't recur, they won't be seeing me again on Google. How the hell could Google/Blogger suddenly decide that I appear to be a virus or spyware application? I took their idiotic advice and deleted all Google cookies from my system. Did it work? Of course not! I posted the error message and a request for clarification and resolution in the Blogger/Google help forums. Several people replied that they were experiencing the same thing. Do you think that Blogger/Google has provided a response? Or a solution? Why, hell no.
I think perhaps it's about time to think about moving my blog somewhere else. Blogger doesn't seem to work for crap any more. Maybe Google should have kept on more employees. Whatever. I've never cared for the LiveJournal format, but TypePad's looking pretty good to me right now.

Ooooooooooooooooooooh! I'm the first! Do you know what I find? When I don't post for a while I have to keep signing in with my email and password until I do my own post again.
Wow, I never realized that things were so messed up. I have never had any major problems with either Blogger or Google (knock wood) except for some minor bugaboos that were temporary and resolved by the folks on the B team.
I'm really sorry that you are having to go through so much crap. No matter what you decide to do or go, you can be certain that this rough edged, uncouth fellow will follow.
I've had that constant signing in thing happen before, too, Lamby. Just one more of the many Bloggerboos.:)
Hey, NYD, it's good to see you back. I hope you had a wonderful time in NYC. Although I haven't had any trouble accessing THIS blog (yet, knock on wood), I'll leave a link if I decide to move.:)
serena,
relax, it's SATURDAY! SATURDAY! SATURDAY!
the bugs come and go, but trust me, the grass ain't any greener 'over there' :)
the whole internet is experiencing something of a bandwidth crunch right now -- it probably will get worse before it gets better
so, it's SATURDAY!
kick off your shoes, fire up the Q, invite the lambs over for a visit ;)

/t.
Happy Saturday, /t. So, you're saying that the whole blasted Internet is broken? Has anyone told Al Gore about this? He made it, maybe he can fix it.:-) I know, I know, the grass is never any greener, never mind all the damned incursions to test the waters.
Can you tell Serena in crappy mood today?:)
A BBQ sounds great to me. Call in the lambs! I promise I won't let anyone eat them.:D
little lamb
broke it
again
/t.
I got that damn blogger message too and I forgot to copy my comment response before submitting (something I do in case it does mess up...that way I don't have to rethink and type it again).
(Note to self: cancel the "I will NOT be ignored" comment to Serena and the self-inflicted wounds to recapture Serena's attention. She appears to have a valid excuse this time.)
Well, we're going to have to do something about LL, /t. That's just all there is to it. She's gotta quit breaking the thing.:-)
Grrrr, VE. I've had THAT Bloggerboo happen beaucoup times, too. Stupid $&*#^ Blogger.:)
Thank you, Puggy. I'm in no mood for acerbic comments, PLUS I don't want to see any bleeding wounds. I'm also in no mood to be fainting. Soon, I'll venture out into cyberspace to see if the Bloggerboo's still happening. If it is, THEN I'll faint, and perhaps self-inflict some wounds of my own.:D
I'm very primitive anyway, so blogger seems high-tech to me...
A Commadore 64 seems high-tech to me..
Sherry seems very High-Tech to me!!
An abacus seems high-tech to me!
..You get the picture :-)
Do they still have Commadore 64s, G? I don't know know how to use an abacus; too high-tech for my blood.:)
Serena, anytime anything breaks around here, /t. blames me. I don't know why.
LOL, Lamby. I know you didn't break it.:)
You've heard of the scape goat? I guess I'm the scape lamb.
Sometimes I have trouble telling goats from lambs (and up from down, black from white, yada-yada), but I'll bet scapelambs are cute.:-)
That's just craziness!
I've never had any problems with Blogger, but I know SO many people who have. (They all went to wordpress, but I heard you have to spend money on making changes and I need the money for gas.) ;P
And how the heck do they decided who is and isn't a spammer anyway? Ugh! You don't look like spam to me. :)

I don't know much about Word Press, Snow. I know a lot of people use it, though.
You know what I find ironic? Google can't prevent 600+ spam mails from piling up in my g-mail in the course of a week, but they think I (and all the other people having the same problem) am a spammer or a bot or a virus? I don't even know HOW to spam. Maybe I should learn. THEIR access never seems to be blocked.:)
Actually, I think I'm UNblocked now; I haven't gotten the error message tonight.
Bugs is the Internet, the internet is bugs.
My blip right now is woik; dey's tryin' ta kill me hyar!
Let a tornado do that next month (VB 10 is almost built, BTW)!
I heard LL is also responsible for all this global warming. Something about a conspiracy to blame the cows for methane when its really the lambs' fault after all!
xx
pinks
Skunky, you're working at 4:30 in the morning?! Yowza. I'm looking forward to #10.:)
Boy, Pinks, those wily lambs are creating chaos all over, aren't they?:)
I've had that problem, but it was a while back, and soon resolved itself.
There's always some kind of glitch goin' on with blogger, but I prefer to stay with the devil I know.
Well, you have a good point there, Sling. A known devil is almost always preferable to an unknown one. That's definitely something to keep in mind.:)
I have had problems with blogger too, albiet little. It used to refuse to add links to my blog. Now it has been behaving.
Thanks for dropping by Serena & also your good wishes. Am still feeling weak & tired & am supposed to be bed resting, which can turn SOOOOOOOOO boring. So I came say a 'hi' to friends :)
Mona, I'm so glad you're feeling better. Don't overdo it, though, and keep resting. Angina is nothing to fool around with.
Apparently, if enough people raise a ruckus, Blogger fixes the problems. Eventually.:)
