Meme Me

I didn't have to write a meme today because I was tagged by Sling with this one. It's quite simple, actually, although it has the potential for one to wax quite eloquent with it.

Follow the requisite rules and:

1. Write your own six-word memoir.
2. Post it on your blog and include a visual illustration if you’d like.
3. Link to the person who tagged you in your post.
4. Tag five more blogs with links.
5. And don’t forget to leave a comment on the tagged blogs with an invitation to play!

My six-word memoir would almost surely have to be:

"She gave it her best shot."

And that's true. Everything I've ever attempted to do, I've given it my best effort. Sometimes I made it, sometimes I didn't. And the things I gave only a half-assed effort to weren't, in the end, worth having, anyway. I've always given my all to the important things, those things closest to my heart, those things I had to achieve or die trying. And as far as I can tell, I'm not dead yet. And I have a long way to go. I plan to give it my best shot.

I'm not going to tag five fellow bloggers, simply because I never do. Rather, anyone who wants to take this and run with it is welcome to port it to your own blog and set it in motion. And as always, to tag or not to tag is up to you.

TWISTED LINGUISTICS is shooting these Words Gone Wild today.

curtian
incorredt
catholiscism
soveriegnly
king on the thrown

I have no idea what they mean. How about you give them your best shot?

Curtian a person who in shame keeps window fixings drawn shut because they can't remember the "i before a" grammar rule.

soveriegnly the grandiose attitude of a person 'who would be king' - (see king on the thrown)- but never will be.

king on the thrown the result of a self-proclaimed ruler (a soveriegn) who after being ousted is tossed into a crocodile-infested moat.

catholiscism the act of a church leader trying to be a "soveriegn."

incorredt being so wrong that one fails to "c" (see)that they are about to become a soveriegn and will in the end lead a life as a curtian.

Galen, I'm guessing the boy who made you smile would be your son, in which case I think that is lovely.:)

/t., my dear, thank you so much for tackling those tedious words. NOW they make sense to me. A little.:)

And thank YOU, Mike, for my continuing education. I believe I'm beginning to grasp the intricate rules of curtian now.:)

Kan, honey, that makes a great memoir. I'll try refrain from stealing it from you.:)

And damn it all, VE, it's going to take a lot of will power to keep me from stealing yours, too.:)

Thank you, Snow. Have fun playing with it.:)

No, Galen, I'm not blonde. Not today, anyway. NOW I get it. I totally missed the nuance first time around. Maybe I SHOULD be blonde.:)

curtian - dog faced alien from the planet Cur.
incorredt - Two choices, Incorporate(Capitalism) or Communism.
catholiscism - the division of the church of the cat.
soveriegnly - WTH? Stumped me, unless its about...
king on the thrown - Verne J. Troyer, after a dwarf tossing contest.

LOL @ your definitions, Charles. You know, yours was the second reference to dwarves today. I know now what's missing in my life -- dwarves! I want a dwarf of my own. A garden gnome just isn't enough.:)

Catholiscism- The driving force behind Martin Luther nailing his 95 theses to the church door at Worms, which sparked the Protestant movement, and led to the Reformation of the Christian church.
..I gave it my best shot. ;)

And a hell of a good shot it was, Sling. Now I understand Catholiscism. I think. Maybe.:D

"I just knew this would happen."

Hey kitty, don't eat all the peeps at one sitting.

Your best shot doesn't have to be at munching sweets.

Alas, NYD, I have no more Peeps. Apparently, they cannibalized each other in their little cardboard box; nothing but a few grains of sugar left. I could use a good sugar high right about now, too.:-)
