I chose today's song ("Hard Son," Eddie Vedder) because I like it a lot, and I'll probably like the movie for which it was written ("Into the Wild").
If you'd care to write a poem today, in the style of your choice, I'd like that, too. The topic is -- sons.
Have a happy, laid back Saturday.

The man produced a son
Who's election tortured everyone
As our leader, he didn't "Git r Done"
And unfortunately there's more than one
Yay, Puerileuwaite! Good one, and so true.
Now mine:
One steady, one mercurial, both of these sons.
Pegged by aunts to be losers, both of these ones.
Struggling and scratching and fighting to win,
Whenever necessary, beginning again.
Though less talented, talented still, they were driven more.
Living better than some, much more in store.
My father's sons' desires left in the fore.
Excellent work, Puggy and Charles!
hard son
a good song
reminds me of leonard cohen singing,
"don't go home with your hard son"

sorry,
s/b "on"

/t.'s being naughty today. What fun!:)
They are so enjoyable when they are young
So much mischief..so much fun
But they always seem to drift away..
Never listening to what you say..
They find new friends..they find the world,
They find a job , they find a girl..
They are the greatest joy,
They are the greatest pain.
They bring the smiles, they bring the rain.
They are your legacy, they are your life..
They are son's till they find a wife..
Then hopefully your grandson won't be such an ungrateful little bastard...

I loved these poems!!!!
All three of them!
Aw, G. I love it that although you fight it, you eventually bite the bullet and ... write me a poem. And it's good!:)xoxo
I loved them, too, LW. I just wish I knew where all the rest of "my" poets are.:-)
