A friend of mine is having a heart catheterization done today. She'd kill me if I mentioned her name, so please just send out general good vibes for her.
My ear is back to normal size and consistency, but it itches like crazy and I have what appears to be a monstrously swollen lymph node beneath it. I lost two pounds over the weekend, but I do believe I must have put it back on yesterday. I was starving and ate pretty much everything in sight.
The siding crew is still laboring away at my house. I don't know why it's taking so long. One of the guys got fired, too (probably for laying out every Monday), which won't speed things up any. The guttering guys came yesterday and finished up in just a few hours. At this rate, I don't know if my house will be back to normal by Thanksgiving. That makes it a bit difficult to make plans.
I saw this "quote" somewhere yesterday and rather enjoyed it:
Some people are like Slinkies...
Not really good for anything,
But they still bring a smile to your face
When you push them down a flight of stairs.
Kind of reminds me of the client we fired today. We knew she was trouble the moment she walked through the door. Now she can go become somebody else's problem. Good riddance!
The Words Gone Wild we're going to play with today before handing them over to TWISTED LINGUISTICS for execution all come from that self-appointed "editor" person.
celebritys - Praising bright lights.
knit-picker - A shopper who consistently selects only the most unstylish clothes off the racks.
comraderie - Russian bonding ritual.
back peddle - Selling contraband out of dark back alleys.
conjoled - Talking the warden into a conjugal visit.
upheavel - Puking.
goulish - Stuff that's sort of like goulash, but not, which makes it kind of spooky.
You Should Be a Politician |
Confident, assertive, and dedicated - you know what you want in life and how to get it. Stubborn and opinionated, you can stand your ground... even if it's unpopular. And while you have strong views, you never overwhelm people with your opinions. A true charmer, you subtly influence people into seeing things your way. You do best when you: - Work according to your own rules - Can change the world with what you do You would also be a good lawyer or talk show host. |

***You Should Be an Artist***
You are incredibly creative, spontaneous, and unique.
No one can guess what you're going to do next, but it's usually something amazing.
You can't deal with routine, rules, or structure. You're easily bored.
As long as you are able to innovate and break the rules, you are extremely successful.
You do best when you:
- Can work by yourself
- Can express your personality in your work
You would also be a good journalist or actor.
You Should Be a Doctor
You are practical, sharp, and very intuitive.
Optimistic and energetic, you are a problem solver who doesn't get discouraged easily.
You are also quite compassionate and caring. You make people feel hopeful.

- Use your knowledge to solve problems
You would also be a good therapist or detective.
Gee, me a doctor. I think a Phd might be a bit much, but heaven forbid my ever becoming an MD. Come to think of it, heaven has forbid it, or economics, or fate, or something.
I found a video for you to watch.
Or is it forbade?
I like your results better than mine, Roxan.:)
You got good results, too, Charles. I can't watch the video on this computer -- too slow -- but I will when I get home.
Or is it forbade?
I prefer forbidden.:)
Once again, Roxan and I are the same.
I would not say that the next thing I'm going to do is "amazing," although it's likely to be interesting. And I really do do my best when I work by myself.
...Except today, when I can't seem to get anything done. Urk.
Quote of the day. I have told three people that "slinky" line since reading it. Wonderful!
***You should be exhumed***
i love love love slinky!
( for fun it's the best of the toys :)
/t.
I have days like that, Greeny. Boy, do I. You're probably just distracted. It'll pass, honey.:)
I'm glad you're finding the Slinky line so amusing, Kan. I liked it, too. Maybe a bit too much. LOL.:)
I'm afraid of exhumation, too, /t. I'm scared they'll find out what was wrong with me and ... fix it. I have a Slinky around here somewhere. I should look for it.:)
You Should Be a Social Worker

tc
I can see that about you, TC. You are a deeply empathetic and caring soul. I'd say they got that one right.
I'm feeling much better, thanks.:)
Loved the quote. Thankfully I work alone, at home, or I might be typing this message from behind steel. :-D
Glad to see you are feeling better SJ.
"Bacteria"...The rear, of a cafeteria!
You should be a Shepherd!
No particular Reason...
Serena Joy..
I once had this girlfriend who had a swollen lymph gland, looked like a lemon!
It didn't bother her too much, except she could'nt wear 'dangly ear-rings'
Love You Red..xoxox
You and me both, Trée. And I don't think either one of us would look very good in jail clothes.:)
A shepherd, Galen? Like, for sheep? Hmmmm. I'll bet that girlfriend with the lemon in her jaw looked slightly odd. I'm glad mine didn't get that big. And that I can wear earrings. Love 'ya, too, G.:)
xoxo
My thoughts are with your friend.
I know some slinkies, wouldn't the chance of some stairs be great??
You are driven, focused, and an extremely hard worker.
And while you can be ruthless in getting what you want, you also have a compassionate side.
You are able to balance your own desires with the needs of others.
You'll do almost anything to get the job done, but you're not willing to step on anyone's toes.
You do best when you:
- Are working with others
- Are in a fast paced environment
You would also be a good CEO or school principal.
I can imagine myself as a principal of a school! LOL!
I am sorry to hear about your ear Serena. I hope you recover fully soon enough!
I agree, Queenie. A Slinky and a set of stairs could make for a fun-filled afternoon.:-)
Thanks, Mona. The ear feels MUCH better today. You know, you'd actually probably make a pretty good school principal. It takes diplomacy, and you have that.:)
That picture should be captioned: "It's Just a Bad EARhair Day."
I think you're right, Camille.:)
