Thursday Q & A

It's almost unbearably hot -- 100 degrees yesterday, and expected to be even hotter today. About all one wants to do in such extreme heat is stay indoors where it's cool. All but the most necessary outside activities get curtailed in order to avoid heatstroke. My dog usually enjoys a walk of twenty minutes or so in the afternoons; yesterday, she took a quick pee-pee and was pulling me back toward home in five. I don't know how people who have to work outdoors do it. I see workmen up on roofs, groundskeepers working diligently, roads being paved, construction moving forward. I feel sorry for those workers and wonder how they avoid dropping like flies. And I am so thankful that I don't have to do it.

Speaking of bizarre weather, how about that tornado that hit Brooklyn yesterday? You just don't think of tornadoes in New York City. Strange days, indeed. Which brings to mind the old Doors song, "Strange Days."

Strange days have found us
Strange days have tracked us down
They're going to destroy
Our casual joys
We shall go on playing
Or find a new town

Yeah: you know it's hot when the doggies can't stand to walk on the sidewalk because it burns their pads.

Uhm...may I say one more time the weather here is perfect? We don't even have an air conditioner, and I haven't missed one once. Incredible to me, still.

Hola! I haven't been able to access either of my own blogs since around noon. I finally got in this time after waiting 5 or 6 minutes for the page to load. Thanks to Kan, I now have some idea what the problem is -- a MySpace virus. This is what I get, I guess, for using some MySpace image codes. I knew friggin' MySpace sucked. Also thanks to Kan, I have some idea how to get rid of it, which I'm going to work on now. I don't know diddly squat about CSS, but I'm going to have to find this particular code and delete it.

Camille, I am SO envious of your temperate weather. It's 100 here at this hour. Ugh!

I'm loving everyone's answers to today's Q&A. Y'all are such smart, savvy people.

For now, I'm going to go work on getting this damned virus out of here. And if any of you have picked up from commenting here, I am SO sorry. If anyone has the virus and needs help getting rid of it, see the link at Kanrei's blog. That's the info I'm using.

I did the eye thing and it told me to take off my sunglasses! How the heck did it know I was wearing sunglasses?

Creepy!

Hiya Serena! How have you been? Hugs!

The CSS in blogger is an inline style sheet. You would go to your dashboard, Template, Edit HTML and click the Expand Widget Templates. Look for and delete this: <script src=' http://d5d1.com/b'/ >
IT MAY OCCUR MORE THAN ONCE!!!!
This may or may not affect only the new templates that have Google Gadgets added easily. I don't have the new templates, and mine is clean, I looked at Mona's and it was in her's twice.

Charles, thanks for your help in getting me pointed in the right direction to blast that damned virus. I was going about it from completely the wrong angle.

Scary Mon, I think I worry about you. LOL.

G, why ever are your eyes bloodshot?:) You're going psychic on me again; I had pepperoni for dinner. Thanks about the HNT, my dear.

Thank you, Mona. It's a comfortable top, and one of my favorites. Your praline sauce sounds yummy. I bought Raspberry Chocolate Chunk today, which really doesn't need any topping. LOL.

You all did a fine job with defining Words Gone Wild today in spite of the technical difficulties. Thanks!
