You've Been a Little Ruined by American Culture

Whether you live in the US or not, deep down you're a little American.
And there's nothing wrong with loving American culture, but it may have negative effects on your life.
Slow down and enjoy what you have. Reconnect with life's simple pleasures.
You don't need to be in a consumerist rat race. Life's too short to overwork yourself!

***You Have Not Been Ruined by American Culture***

You're nothing like the typical American. In fact, you may not be American at all.
You have a broad view of the world, and you're very well informed.
And while you certainly have been influenced by American culture (who hasn't?), it's not your primary influence.
You take a more global philosophy with your politics, taste, and life. And you're always expanding and revising what you believe.

Hi, Snowelf! I've seen you over at G's place, and I'm so glad you dropped by.

English & Math were my two also. And I watch the same shows you do, albeit I haven't yet decided how much I like House. And Mystery is my genre. Yes! Lots of wisdom in your answers, Snowelf. Thanks for playing!:)

Serena said...

LBB, that's so cool that you also like American Gothic. So sorry about your furvert problem. I recommend another shot of Vanilla Stoli. And my dear, I wish you -- and me -- continued continence. Or at least someone willing to change our Depends.:-)

I like Chinese food, PH, but I am hopeless at accounting. I'm probably not going to get any taller, either. But maybe you will!:-)

Ah, Trée, a spaghetti man -- a man after my own heart. Overrun with chairs, are you? Two words -- yard sale. LOL. Love your song choice -- bee-yew-tee-ful.:)

Trée said...

S, I make a spaghetti sauce from a fourth generation recipe (my great grandfather brought it over from Sicily) that is head and shoulders better than anything I've ever had at any restaurant. The meatballs melt in your mouth. Takes about six hours to cook properly and is a "sweet" sauce, using up to a cup of sugar. The aroma in the house while the sauce is cooking is sigh inducing. Bring some wine and come on over. I might even fluff your pillows. :-D

Serena said...

Sss-weeeeeet! If you're making garlic bread, too, I'll be there by dinner time.:)

Trée said...

Yes, we always have garlic bread with real garlic and butter toasted lightly on French baguettes. And tea too. So hurry over. I'll save you a seat next to me and you can whisper sweet nothings of appreciation. ;-)

I'm eating first. Then maybe I'll whisper something to you. I'll try and mind my manners and not say something like, "Are there seconds?" :-)

Serena said...

Thanks for the explanations, G. I was worried about stoggie. I was afraid it was something obscene.

Question: Why do they always pass out? Would chairity make a difference, do you think?

Let's go eat Chinese.:-)

I know this is waaaaay down on the string but I wanted to report in that I have now watched TV on the internet. I quite like it. I watched a Grey's Anatomy. THere were only 30 second commmercials every once in a blue moon. I saw one show. I don't know how long it will last though because I think the characters are ninnies, except for the one black lady. She rocks.

Serena said...

That sounds pretty cool, CD. Yeah, some of the Grey's characters act like ninnies sometimes, but that one doctor is very together.
