Reflections In A Dried Up Mudhole

Myspace Layouts

I woke up this morning and thought, "Yeah!" Meaning, it's a day for another dose of Serena's Cornpone Palliative Philosophy.

I'd love to be able to reflect with Walden's-quality contemplation and glean some earth-shattering insights but, alas, my name is Serena, not Thoreau, and what you see is what you get.

* If you can think it up and conceptualize it, it can be done.

* If you let it go too easily, perhaps you didn't value it enough to begin with.

* When left to your own devices, make sure the devices are top of the line.

* Sometimes when I'm feeling discombobulated, I wonder if I'm not better off. Would I really want to be combobulated?

* Always try to give as much as you get, including grief. Especially grief.

* If the glass is half empty, maybe you should top it off.

* If it looks good, grab it -- before somebody else does.

* Only you can make a fool of yourself. No one can do it for you.

* If you're going to climb mountains, first make sure you're not afraid of heights.

* If your dog doesn't like someone, pay attention. My dog has much better instincts than I have.

* This one isn't mine. It is, rather, the ancient wisdom of a true Zen master. I love it, though, and live it. It's worth sharing.

Things are different because ... they are different.

Nah, if I let go of something too easily, I ususally just forgot about it and the note for it got ground up in the washer and dryer.

I never trust someone my dogs don't. That is a hard and fast rule at my house. Though we have all been fooled by some people.

Although I don' think you have a cat, if a guy likes cats and your cat likes him he's usually a keeper*wink*

Dog-owners on the whole are okay sort of people. Bill Sykes may be the exception to the rule but he was a made-up person.

I like:
They said I'd lose my mind as I aged; they didn't tell me I wouldn't miss it.

Amen, CD. Always trust the dog. Although, mine will let anybody pass muster if they have food in their pockets.

I don't have a cat, TC, because my dog won't let me. You're a keeper, though. They don't call you Top Cat for nothing.:)

Love your meditation statement, Liz. LOL.

Littlebird, the punk rockin' chick. LOL.

Who knows, Puggy? I don't trust 'em, either. I guess I got what I got because I like a little bit of everything.

If you can think it up and conceptualize it, someone else is already making money off of it.

There is that, TFG.

I can imagine myself laying back in a small punt just slowly drifting along that water, with Clair de Lune playing softly somewhere in the background.

Things tend to do that. If you like a thing, it sets in and grows like a, yes, fungus.:)
