Time Waits For No One

And so, it is done. The time change, I mean. And I am feeling every bit as discombobulated as I knew I would. I woke up early this morning, looked at the clock, and thought, "Wait! Is that clock showing what time it's supposed to be, or is it the other one?" I was organized enough last night to set a few clocks ahead before turning in, but had I done both clocks in the bedroom? One is set half an hour fast, the other ten minutes fast -- which only adds to the confusion in times like these. I lay in bed and calculated that, okay, regardless of what any of the clocks say, it's still ungodly early. And I went back to sleep. A couple of hours later, I awoke again and began the same calculations before just giving in and getting up -- "The clock says 9:00, though it's really only 8:00, but hie thy butt on out of bed because you have to go by the clock. And you have to reset all the other clocks in the house."

I know what the clock says, but my body ain't buying it. My internal clock knows exactly what time it is. It feels really weird. It's going to feel odd tonight, too, when I'm ready to have a nice, relaxing bath and get into my nightgown and ... it's still light out.

Want to hear a Blonde Joke? Those are timeless.

Three women go down to Mexico one night to celebrate college graduation, get drunk, and wake up in jail, only to find that they are to be executed in the morning, though none of them can remember what they did the night before.

The first one, a redhead, is strapped in the electric chair, and is asked if she has any last words. She says, "I just graduated from Brigham Young University and believe in the almighty power of God to intervene on the behalf of the innocent."

They throw the switch and nothing happens. They all immediately fall to the floor on their knees, beg for her forgiveness, and release her.

The second one, a brunette, is strapped in and gives her last words, "I just graduated from the LSU School of Law and I believe in the power of justice to intervene on the part of the innocent."

They throw the switch and, again, nothing happens. Again, they all immediately fall to their knees, beg for her forgiveness, and release her.

The last one, a blonde, is strapped in and says, "Well, I'm from Texas and just graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering from Texas A & M, and I'll tell you right now, y'all ain't gonna electrocute nobody if you don't plug this damn thing in!"

I suspect time changes cause strange mutations in Words Gone Wild, too. This group rounded up by Twisted Linguistics would seem to be evidence of that.

low and behold - Cows murmuring to each other as they look at a UFO.

Spookey - The Rosetta Stone of unlocking the secrets of ghosts.

qucikly - I don't know this one, though I gather it has something to do with someone being sickly.

What color flower are you?

You Are a Yellow Flower

A yellow flower tends to represent joy, friendship, and playfulness.
At times, you are childlike, as a buttercup is.
And at other times, you are fickle, like a dahlia.
And more than you wish, you tend to feel bittersweet, like a marigold.

Great blonde joke! Tee hee.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who likes to have a fast clock in the bedroom! I hope your body will soon catch up with the hour. Is it time for bed yet?

No, I don't think it's bedtime yet. It's only a little past 3:30 -- according to the clock. My innards, however, are fully aware that it's really only 2:30 and they are rebelling.:)

Daylight Savings Vu - that strange feeling that it isn't really what time the clock says.

This is a tough one:

quicikly - That sickly icky feeling you get from eating quiche - especially when you hate the stuff, but are eating it to be polite!

I've an in-built alarm clock and if that doesn't work, my male cat takes over from there. So they can fool around with the clocks, fade our curtains (just kiddin', my in-built alarm clock ignores them all.

***You Are a Blue Flower***

A blue flower tends to represent peace, openness, and balance.
At times, you are very delicate like a cornflower.
And at other times, you are wise like an iris.
And more than you wish, you're a little cold, like a blue hydrangea.

Blue. I like blue.

Dang, Mike, you aced quicikly, which totally stumped me. I like quiche.

I hear you, Lee, but this mess wreaks havoc with my internal clock. I'll get used to it. Eventually.

Me don't have to worry about setting me clocks forward and then back and then forward again. Me does have to keep it in mind when me calls me friends and family though. Me always be forgetting and then calling people at the wrong time. Me wonders how many countries use daylight savings

Not knowing what time it is in another locale can certainly get hairy. I'll tell you what burns me up -- when someone in my town, where it's the same time, calls my house at 7:00 on a Saturday morning. Absolutely maddening.
