To Hurl Or Not To Hurl?

One word describes the sum total of my day so far: blech. I found myself suddenly feeling queasy last night, for no reason I could think of. Normally, a good night's sleep cures all ills. But not always. The very sight of the piece of toast I was thinking about eating this morning brought on a fresh wave of nausea. Most unpleasant. If this is an oncoming flu or something, I wish it would just come on, give me its best shot, and then be gone. Nausea is one of my least favorite things in the world. I loathe it, and I hate to be attacked by it. I don't have time for it, and I don't like being sidelined by anything. And I'm hungry, damn it.

Since I can't eat, I, of course, had to find other ways in which to while away some time. That means -- the Internet! There are so many incredibly talented people in the Blogosphere, so many cleverly named sites. Sometimes it makes me feel as though my own creativity and ingenuity are in a state of suspended animation -- if they ever existed at all.

Since I have hurling on my mind today, I was quite naturally captivated by something I found on Liz's blog

http://liz-and-harvey.blogspot.com/

this morning -- hurling haggis! Whoever would have thought? Never mind that the mere word haggis makes my stomach do flip-flops even when I'm not queasy. If you know what it is, it'll do that. Well. I had to go and see it for myself, of course. I refuse to divulge how much time I spent on it. I will say that it turns out I'm pretty good at it.

**I have tried and tried to get Blogger to do links properly. I follow every single instruction to the letter; no dice. It simply Will. Not. Do. Them. Grrrr.

What do your dreams mean?

What Your Dreams Mean...

Your dreams seem to show that you're a bit disturbed... but nothing serious.

You may have a problem you're trying to work out in your sleep.

You tend to be a very productive thinker.

Your dreams indicate that you have very conflicted feelings.

You have a very vivid imagination and a rich creative mind.

You secretly want to hide your dreams from your waking mind.

If you had a band, what would it be called?

Your Band Name is:

The Chia Tangerines

I read all the way down to the bottom of your interesting site, where pictures of you make you out to be a sharp intelligent woman! Isn't that nice to hear?

DID YOU KNOW THAT YOU CAN ACTUALLY READ "CODES" RIGHT OUT OF YOUR OWN BIBLE, that CONTROL your Destiny?

See the "Chosen"Code and "Color" Code; VISIT: http://quadcode.blogspot.com !

Save or Print it to study!

HAVE A MUCH MORE INSPIRING DAY!

WOW! I DID NOT KNOW I COULD READ "CODES" RIGHT OUT OF MY OWN BIBLE, RUDY! DO THESE "CODES" GIVE ME "MESSAGES" ABOUT BIG SAVINGS AT THE SUPERMARKET? THAT WOULD BE AWESOME!

*I hate blogbots*

Depending on whether I use my first name only, first and last, or first last and middle names, my band could be

The White Bread Stockbrokers
The Gagging Housewives

or
The Hindu Ladies

Using my blogger name, I get

The Dancing Hussies

I'm sensing a theme here...

AND REMEMBER: "Jesus Saves souls--and redeems them for valuable prizes!" :)

I know that feeling all too well. I actually hate it and it seems to only grow with every blog update to be honest. Just post anyway and let the words fall where they may.

I called in sick today myself. I was honest with my bosses and just told them I cannot handle it today.

You got spam! Bible code cracks me up to be honest. I mean anything that tells the future really should let you know BEFORE the actual event. Otherwise we are just making our own patterns.

***What Your Dreams Mean...***
With my personal take on the quiz

Your dreams seem to show that you're very preoccupied with your fears and problems.- Not True. This quiz lies like a dog.

These bad dreams indicate that you need to spend more time on your issues during the day. -Ditto.

Your dreams tend to reflect your insecurities.-Whatever!!!

You have a very vivid imagination and a rich creative mind. Damn right.

You secretly want to hide your dreams from your waking mind.- Like hell I do. I love my dreams. The creepier the better!

The Gagging Masochists

Love the theme going on here, Scott. Long live the Dancing Hussies, who you simply must memorialize in an appropriate sonnet. LOL.

Yeah, Kan, I got spam. Aren't I a lucky girl? Why, my poor empty little head can't deal with big old hairy CODES. SOMEBODY UNTIE ME FROM THESE RAILROAD TRACKS RIGHT NOW!

Hey, just saying it and letting the words fall where they may is pretty much what I do on a regular basis. Hope you've enjoyed your impromptu day off.

Roxan, of course, the quizzes lie! They can't read CODE, either.
Love your band name -- The Gagging Masochists. Well, I should hope so -- if I were going to be a masochist, I'd certainly insist on a little gagging. Lordy me, Sistah's in a "place" today.:)

Hey, Happy Birthday, Roxan!

Hope you feel better. I think you are very creative and you stick with it by writing every day, or it seems like every day because you always have an update.

SJ, I'm so sorry to hear that you are nauseated. There is nothing worse. Maybe some crushed ice would help?

Rudy (sigh). Go 'way.

I got the same band name as Sonnet Boy when I used my real first name.
The White Bread StockBrokersWhen I used my blog name Corn Dog I got
The Hindu Androids
I like it. I really like it. Am I beginning to sound like Sally Fields? Oh no, she said, "You like me. You really like me."

SJ, popsicles help some too but I doubt you have any in the house. I hope you feel better soon.

Serena said...

Well, thank you, Rain. Most days, I just dash off whatever blather first occurs to me.

Corn Dog -- the Hindu Androids?! I love it. You're right, I have no popsicles. I wouldn't mind having some, though. Since I'm freezing one minute and hot enough to strip down to my skivvies the next, I think I've got some kind of bug. I did eat some cornflakes, though, so I'm not going to starve. It'll pass in a day or two and then I can pig out on something good.:)

LOL, Little Bird. I can't quite picture what Amish Tulip rockers would look like.:)

This is what you get when you can't remember your damn dreams:

Your dreams seem to show that you're a very well adjusted and happy person.

You tend to be a very productive thinker.

You have a very vivid imagination and a rich creative mind.

My band name sux. The Hard-Drinkin' Leprechauns. Please. I like Amish Tulip, though.

Kanrei, I call those mental health days. Who has a copy of that old spam with a picture of Tweety? I can't remember what the set-up is, maybe something about calling in blind maybe? It ends with "I just can't see dragging my ass out of bed and coming in." I couldn't find it.

As for, "Sometimes it makes me feel as though my own creativity and ingenuity are in a state of suspended animation -- if they ever existed at all." I can totally empathize! I feel that way at least twice a week. It really gets me down when I read very good writing!

I so totally understand the feeling

Nausea is a horrible thing; nothing you can do really eases it. Except vomiting and, after a bout of that at christmas, I do not recommend it!

You know, Serena, your blog is always one of the first I read. It's always interesting and enjoyable.

I have been thinking, for a while, that your style had changed a little from when I first visited. I still visit and enjoy but a little of 'serena' seems to have gone. But it's probably just me!

Scary Monster said...

Feel better SJ time, bed rest and a good movie might just make you feel a little better.

Me put Me name in the rock band generator and got "the furious ninjas" was diggin the name but then me put that name into the generator expectin Me own name to pop back out and me got "Chiapet cafeteria". So is me a ninja or a chiapet? I guess it depends which side of the bed me falls out of...

Serena said...

Lesia, I had a veritable kaleidoscope of dreams last night, hopping from one subject to another at rapid-fire pace. Unfortunately, I can't remember a darn thing about any of them. I'm sure I've seen that "Tweety" you're talking about, but I can't remember where.

I know, Liz; my style has changed. There were a couple of reasons for it. Maybe I'll be able to eventually get back to writing from a more personal perspective. I hope so.

Serena said...

Bless your heart, Scary-Who-Ain't-Be-So-Scary. I do feel better this morning.

Ha-Ha! I can "see" The Furious Ninjas. In fact, I did see them, plotting and scheming with a pack of Viking Sheep. If you go with The Chiapet Cafeteria, make sure nobody eats my Chia Tangerines.:)
