Isn't She Lovely?

As Stevie Wonder would say,

Isn't she lovely?
Isn't she wonderful?
Isn't she precious?

This is my niece, Megan, with her auntie circa 1984. She looks like an elfin little Pixie baby, doesn't she?

This is Megan around 1992, age 9, in her house across the road from a NC beach.

Here she is at age 12, blossoming into a beautiful young lady.

This is Meg as a high school cheerleader.

And here's Megan Michelle, aged 23, on her wedding day, September 16, 2006. Growing up on the ocean as she did, like a little water sprite, it was a foregone conclusion that her wedding would take place overlooking the water.

Looking for an unusual restaurant? Here's a couple of oddballs.

Chicago
www.motorestaurant.com

From edible menus to patent-pending edible advertisements (the details of which are being kept under wraps), chef Homaro Cantu is taking the science of cooking to another level at culinary laboratory Moto.

I don't know. Wouldn't you wonder just a little about the cuisine if the patrons are eating the menus?

Bradenton, Fla.
www.lingerlodgeresort.com

Chunk of Skunk? Road Toad a la Mode? Yes, these are some of the offerings on the road grill (shouldn't that be road kill?) menu at the Linger Lodge Restaurant. If you’d rather refrain from snacking on snake or sparrow, there’s a traditional menu with classic southern favorites such as Good Ol' Fashioned Catfish and Old-Florida-Style Fried Chicken.

I can see where this might appeal to a certain clientele, but ... Ewwwww!

Today's Twisted Linguistics lineup looks like this.

decist - A member of a cult devoted to December.

comisserate - Two people who evaluate young ladies.

shrowd - A showier than normal wrapping for dead people.

Wonerful - Someone channeling Lawrence Welk.

suppost to - Dig that post-hole deeper so it won't lean.

interner - Another name for a novice doctor.

peofession - What the peon said in the confessional.

And now I go back to ... sitting around waiting on the plumber.

Heston Blumenthal, owner and chef of the Fat duck restuarant, has won loads of Chef of the Year and Best Restuarant awards and he's very scientific.

For example he believes eating should touch more than one sense so when serving fish and chips, he sprays a mist of vinegar/salt water into the air around the diners.

The taster menu at the Fat Duck includes snail porridge, sardine-on-toast sorbet and nitro-scrambled egg and bacon ice cream. Not for me I think!

Yug! I believe I'll just stick to the basics, the old tried-and-true. Happy New Year, Liz.

I wanted to open a theme restaurant where everyone was rude and sarcastic. Not original I know, but I was going to design it to look like a cave and call it the "Sar-Chasim" I think that would have worked. She is a very pretty bride and will be so mad at you for posting the baby photos =P

PS- Oh Blog Goddess, please teach us how you got recent comments to show.

Re the baby pictures, she'll get over it.:)

Hmmm. A restaurant with rude, sarcastic personnel? I've eaten in places like that. LOL.

I learned the Show Comments trick from Scary Monster. To get it, go to this site

and scroll down 'til you see the "Show Comments" widget. Then, just follow the very easy instructions.

You have a wonderful neice....and her aunt is pretty darn hot too!

I love my 'kids', none of them are actually mine, but I feel like they are......Especially my oldest niece (age 28), I was a very formative figure in her childhood, much closer to her, then her father....

I will have children, but if for some reason I do not...she is the close enough......

She's beautiful, Serena! What a great evolution from sprite to amazing young woman. You must be very proud. Hugs. Glad you had a good new year.

D'oh! I have to use a Blogger template to use widgets. Curses, foiled again. =D

Thanks, Rex. I think she's pretty special. I have two more nieces, but they won't be getting married any time soon; they're only 9 and 12. Even if you never have kids of your own, you'll know you've been a positive influence in the lives of your nieces and nephews.

Hey, Quid. Yup, I'm a proud auntie. Hope you had a great New Year, too.

Kan, what template are you using? Is there no way to incorporate the code for that?
