RIP, Dick Clark.
Miss Begotten is one of my pet names for myself, for Southern Gothic reasons best kept to myself. Miss Begotten tries to speak plainly, but sometimes she tends to babble -- parenthetically, of course. It's never my intention to offend (and usually that's true - except on those [maybe not so] rare occasions when I mean it very friggin' much) but it sometimes happens, so if you're unusually easily offended...

Farewell to an American Icon
Who's old enough to remember American Bandstand? At the risk of admitting that, yes, I'm from the Stone Age, I loved Bandstand when I was a teenager. What we saw and heard on Bandstand was how we decided on which 45s we'd blow our allowance. For the younguns among us, 45s were ... records; see Wickipedia for the definition. Yeah, it was a different time.
RIP, Dick Clark.

I knew you'd know what a 45 was, /t. You picked an excellent choice for your first purchase, too.;)
Every night he appeared in my dreams. In a Sing-Song voice (natch) he would command me to burn things. Yesterday for the first time, those dreams stopped.
And then that very same night, the Justin Bieber dreams started.
Lord, Pugsley, I worry about you. Dr. Serena's going to think about a treatment plan that gets Bieber and anything sing-song out of your dreams. You'll feel much better once your head's been Serena-shrunk.;)
Amen, Serena. He'll be missed. Somehow, Ryan Secret just doesn't do it for me!
quid
I agree, Quid. Ryan's okay at what he does, but he's hardly the caliber of Dick Clark.
