Miss Begotten is one of my pet names for myself, for Southern Gothic reasons best kept to myself. Miss Begotten tries to speak plainly, but sometimes she tends to babble -- parenthetically, of course. It's never my intention to offend (and usually that's true - except on those [maybe not so] rare occasions when I mean it very friggin' much) but it sometimes happens, so if you're unusually easily offended...

Too Much Of A Good Thing
The rain just keeps on falling. It starts, it pours, they issue flash flood warnings, it stops, and then they cancel the warnings. 'Til it starts again. From drought to monsoon, one extreme to the other. We could have used some of this precip during the last two months when everything was drying up and turning brown. All at once, it's just too much. There is such a thing as too much of a good thing, not that there aren't some things you can never get enough of. A wet, bedraggled, and smelly dog walking an equally soaked and bedraggled -- and cussing -- human is not one of them. And my humidity-sensitive hair still looks like hell. And I don't even care. Praise God and hallelujah to whoever invented the scrunchy.
It's Thursday, which means that at the end of the day I'll have completed my first week back at work post-injury. It's been good, not too busy and not too boring. And on the 30th, I'll get a really decent paycheck -- which is what it's all about.
They hired a new receptionist while I was out and promoted the old one to a more responsible position. She's now sharing my office, and we get along great, so this is a good thing. The new girl is very young and a little flaky, but I think she'll probably do okay. She needs to learn, however, when to speak and when not to. We were all nonplussed the other day, for example, when she announced, apropos of nothing, that she "knows everything" because she studies stuff online just for the hell of it.
So, anyway, it's ... Thursday. Enjoy yours!
And now I'm going to try working a little sympathetic magic via music and see what we can do about all this rain.

Feast or Famine...
Love CCR....
Love scrungy Red Hair!!
I'm glad you've had a good week and have a nice office mate. We've had lots of clouds, but almost no rain! Love the CCR, one of my favorite tunes. Enjoy your days off and don't overdo. Blessings!
Yep, feast or famine, Galen. Ain't that always the way. Glad you loved the CCR, doubt you'd care much for the scrungy red hair.:-)
Thanks, Marion. I wish I could send you some of our surplus of rain. God knows we have more than we need. That's one of my favorite CCR tunes, too. They don't make 'em like they used to. Have a wonderful weekend!:)
i wish i'd know everything by just surfing the internet...
Perfect song for a wet day.
"confusion on the ground"... soundsl like my house today
Hope Friday's better, Serena!
