Zombie Winter

I haven’t forgotten you guys. I’m still around. I don’t know why I’ve let Miss Begotten go stagnant for so long. I’m busy, yes, but not THAT busy. And a little bit lazy sometimes, but not THAT lazy. Maybe I HAVE said about everything I have to say? Nah, that can’t be it. I just need for the spirit to move me, I guess. And it will. Eventually.

It snowed today. Again. Do you know how sick I am of snow? I’m at the point where I’d almost rather take on the Zombie Apocalypse than put up with one more inch of snow. Little Miss Pixie Rue is sick and tired of snow, too. She hates stepping her dainty little feet in snow, and she absolutely will not squat her little butt down in it. It’s been a challenge this Winter finding her some dry pee-pee spots that meet her approval. Thank God for her favorite spot in front of the patio door where she can bask in her sunbeam (photo, alas, not taken today).  That makes her happy.

This one is from today -- the view out my patio door this afternoon. You can't really see the snowflakes, but you can tell that it was white out.

We get these teaser days when it’s over 70 degrees, and then 2 days later, it’s freakin’ snowing. I swear, I truly believe that this is going to keep on ‘til July. Maybe August. By then, I’ll NEED some zombies to beat up and take my frustration out on.

I’m still scratching my head over the lost Malaysian airliner. How on earth does a gigantic airplane with over 200 people onboard suddenly go incommunicado and fly 3500 miles off course and vanish without a trace? It’s mind-boggling.

I’m working way harder than I want to be working. And sometimes I’m afraid I’ll have to keep right on doing it ‘til I croak. Who the hell can afford to retire in this fragile, uncertain economy? I like my job; I just don’t want to be working as hard as I do. And I like my boss. I’m old enough to be his mother, but we have a terrific working relationship. We laugh all the time, so it’s a great environment. I just wish he could pay me more. A LOT more.

Oh, well. Somebody bring me some nasty old zombies to terrorize. Another snow day and I might even volunteer to be their queen.

Hey, Stranger! I had the most wonderful surprise when I saw your comment on my blog. I keep an eye out all the time for your re-arrival and this morning...here you are!

I can understand how fed up you must be with the snow. It has to be horrendous having to deal with it...the amount you guys up your way have been having to deal/cope with.

Snow may look pretty and inviting on Christmas cards and in rom-coms, but having to deal with it day after day would drive the sanest person crazy. I hope soon the sun shines brightly upon you, and poor little Miss Pixy Rue. Having a frozen bum can't be fun! She'll be over the moon when she can run freely out in the sunshine.

It has the world confused, the fate of that Malaysian Airline. How the hell it ended up where it did is a mystery that may never be solved. It's very weird, that's for sure. For it to have ended up way down in the southern Indian Ocean beggars belief. That's an unforgiving part of the world down there. It will be a miracle if we ever do find out the reasons why and how.

Great to see you, Serena. Keep buying a ticket in the lottery...you never know...you have to be in it to win it! :)

Take care.

Hey, Lee, I do pop up every now and then. Much like a prairie dog.:)

I am fed up with snow, but I know it could be worse. Do you get much snow in your part of the world?

I agree that how the hell that plane ended up where it did (if it did) beggars belief. They say that part of the ocean is like the end of the world, too, so it will be a miracle if anything is ever found. If that is, in fact, where it ended up. It's a huge mystery.

Off to buy my lottery ticket now!:-)

I'm glad you stuck your head out of your winter cave long enough to post. LOL! This has been THE strangest winter of my life. Snow and ice in the swamps of Louisiana. Unheard of!!!

I talked to Sarah yesterday and she was driving from Chattanooga home to Nashville and she kept saying, "It's coming a blizzard....it's an ice storm...the sun is now shining!" Wild!!! Let's hope Mama Nature gives us all a break and a nice, mild summer. HA! As if..... xoxo

Hey, Marion. I'm seriously going to think about finding a nice cave and hibernating next winter. This one has been brutal. I can't even imagine snow and ice down your way. Crazy! Alas, I don't think Mama Nature is done with us. Noooo. Lord only knows what she'll think up for summer.:)

Hi Serena!

This is my first visit to your blog and I like it. Where else would I ever have learned Little Miss Pixie Rue has a snow butt aversion? It must be a Chihuahua thing because my Lucy has the same problem. Anyway, I hope you get some Springtime soon!

Cheers!
Harry

Hey, Harry, thanks for the visit! That's too funny about your Lucy having snow butt aversion issues, too. You're right, it's got to be a Chihuahua thing. Lord love the quirky little creatures!:-)
