TGIF

Here's where I wish I was today, with or without Tweety.

I'm sick and tired of Winter and I demand the return of Spring forthwith. I don't care that there hasn't really been that much Winter around these parts this year. A few days is plenty, thank you very much. I have rights. I have the right to step outside without risk of being whisked up by hellish winds and blown over the rainbow. I have the right to travel to and fro without having to bundle up like the Abominable Snowman's love child and dodge errant snowflakes and ice pellets. I have the right to sleep in something light and pretty, unhindered by multiple blankets. I have the right to spend more than a few minutes not hunkered in by a heat source. I have the right to unchapped lips and skin. I have other rights, too. I know I do. I demand my rights. I want to see May Day and green grass and colorful flowers and trees with leaves very darned soon. I mean it. Somebody had better do something about this or there will be hell to pay.

TWISTED LINGUISTICS has a few Words Gone Wild for you, and then we're calling it a week.

Gran Damme - A grandmother who puts on airs and then curses.

underpriviliged - Lying on the ledge beneath the privet hedge.

manking - Gender of a male monarch.

opinins - Sharp, pointed little object used to affix your opinion to the bulletin board.

phenominal - A performance enhancing drug that actually doesn't do much.

I too am sick and tired of winter, and even as I type this the weatherman is spreading cheer on the TV in the next room.

After midnight another storm will be dumping up to 8 inches here in the Boston area!

Funny, cause that is exactly where I am right now. I just waved to Tweety Bird actually. The wind is nice and cool, but the sun is bright and the sand is soft. Ah, the wonders of a South Florida winter...hey! Get that beachball out of my office!
Gotta go, surf's up!

For the last week or so the oak trees have been flowering, and they haven't even lost all their leaves from last year. They had lost all their leaves by the middle of January last year, and the years before that, that I remember.

Just because GW doesn't believe in global warming, doesn't mean that it isn't happening. I think we should all stop believing in him, maybe it'll make him not exist like he thinks ignoring things makes them not exist.

Looks like Kan's trying hard to make you sell him, but if I were you, I'd just move in with him. Then you can use his back to warm your feet. That'll teach him.

The very idea of more snow purely sucks, Mike. Somebody oughta do something. I could teach you how to throw a hissy fit if you want. Sometimes it works.:-)

Kan, you live to torment me, don't you? That's all right, my pretty. I'll see the surf up soon enough, and then Tweety and I might challenge you to a game of beachball.:)

Ahhh, Charles, you must torment me, too, with your imagery of flowering oak trees. That's okay, go ahead. I can take it.:) Nah, I will never sell Kan. I just wish I knew why it was taking him so long to clean out that spare room.:D And listen, why would you make such a lewd comment as that big, huge number? Are you TRYING to make me stroke out?:-)

Sun here today finally. The fog had to burn off.

Serena Joy said...

Ah, but CD, San Francisco and fog are rather synonymous, yes? I am glad it burned off, though. Daytime fog is not a good thing. We're having a very chilly rain, which may well produce some fog later on.

Oh dear, someone wants spring in the worst way! Spring had just better hurry up and then our Serena will be happy.

Thank you for your support, Lambkins. I hope Spring is listening.:)

I had to put on sun tan lotion today. San Diego Zoo was spectacular. Hadn't been there since 1980; though I've been here many times since then. Did Sea World with the kids too. Got soaked on some damn water ride and I got stuck at the front. A lot of walking... Ok, I'll leave you to the snow and cold weather again...

This is strange. For the first time in a looooong time another blogger has posted a similar thought.

I'm with ya baby. Gimme the sun!

Serena Joy said...

Go ahead, VE, rub it in. That's all right, it will be warm here again. Someday.:)

It's that "great minds thinking alike" thing, NYD. I do have the sun today but, alas, I also have Dorothy winds.:)

What does Serena's blog and Cuba have in common?

All the polls are closed!!!

Serena Joy said...

Just call me Fidel, VE -- until I can think up a new poll. I'll get on that ASAP.:-)

YES!..I'm with you on the whole'demanding our rights' thing.
I say we organize a grass roots movement, publish our manifesto, and overthrow the shackles of winter!
Let's do lunch.

Serena Joy said...

All righty, Sling, let's do it. No more icy shackles! No more windy bondage! I already have a few ideas for our manifesto.:D

Jack K sent me, after he read one of my old, pathetic attempts at vocabulary deconstruction and dissyntaxment.

As fer das veather...yesterday hyar, it was 74 degrees. Today, it's 40 degrees colder, and there's 4 fresh inches of snow outside.

The ground hog dies...

Serena Joy said...

Hi, Skunkfeathers. Ooooo, I don't blame you. With a 40-degree temperature drop and fresh snow, the groundhog must die spectacularly. How about we barbecue him?:)
