Miss Begotten is one of my pet names for myself, for Southern Gothic reasons best kept to myself. Miss Begotten tries to speak plainly, but sometimes she tends to babble -- parenthetically, of course. It's never my intention to offend (and usually that's true - except on those [maybe not so] rare occasions when I mean it very friggin' much) but it sometimes happens, so if you're unusually easily offended...

The Path, Or Something Like It
Some mornings you wake up and just say, "Screw it, what's the point?" This, alas, was one of those mornings. Could have been otherwise. Should have been. But it wasn't. {{insert silent scream here}}
People, pets, machinery, house plants, animate, inanimate, and reanimated things, etc., etc., etc., can be complete enigmas. You might think they're going to take one path, and they take one diametrically opposite. You might think they're in a particular mindset, one that vaguely corresponds to yours, only to discover they're not. You might think they -- or you -- are over old habits. You might want to think again. You might sometimes find them in the damndest places. You might wonder why. You won't ever know. You might think they won't embarrass, annoy, or piss you off, or you them. You'd be an idiot to think that. When you're not expecting it is precisely when it'll jump out and bite you. You never know what's in someone else's head, any more than they (or you) know what's in yours. You're going to do what you're going to do, and so are they. If the two paths intersect and merge, great. But it's not a given and only a moron would count on it. Counting on things is what gets people in trouble, isn't it? You can't count on anything. You're doing good if you can manage to stay on your own path and not get lost in the dark woods and eaten by marauding bears.
Up isn't always up and down isn't always down, but sideways is usually more than likely sideways. Whatever. You know there's a full moon rushing at us, don't you? Yeah. I think that's what has my circuits scrambled. It's probably not a good idea to count on a coherent thought out of me 'til sometime on the 23rd.
I do wish you a terrific Sunday, though. And watch out for bears.

Dorothy was right. "Lions, and tigers and bears, oh my!" FDR was right, too. "Walk softly and carry a big stick." A firestick, 12 gauge will work. ;)
Things can always be worse, and darned if sometimes they are. Sometimes circumstances just aren't as desirable as we'd like, and we just have to push through until they get better.
I hope things are going well. I'd hate to think that they aren't.
expectations
are the enemy
disappointment
is (almost) all i ever find for expecting anything from others... even close others
so i'm learning to expect nothing and just take what comes, and say, c'est la vie
hope you're back on top again soon!

/t.
I know, Charles. Things can ALWAYS be worse. It would have been better if less than desirable events could have held off a few days, but what the heck. Like Mick Jagger said, you can't always get what you want.:)
Dang if you aren't right about expectations, /t. I'm trying to get myself back into a c'est la vie mood and just DEAL with it.:)
And now if y'all will excuse me, I'll go have some cheese with my whine.
Er Charles...?
That was Teddy Roosevelt!
Sherry...?
Are there Bears AND Morans abounding???
I sure hope you get your Moon-Glow in control...
Please feel better...

Yeah, I'm better now. Don't ask me better than what.:)
Serena, I have invited you to play share the love on my blog!
Come by and see the rules if you would like to share!
Thank you, LW. I'll check it out tomorrow and see if I can figure out how to do it.:)
You'll find your way back upright, m'dear.
And, as it was said in Larry Shue's Foreigner, "Worry is the Uncle of Despair." (Yeah, I didn't know what that meant, either.)
I seem to be back upright today, Miss Greeny. Thanks! I don't remember hearing that "uncle of despair" line before, but I kind of like it.:)
