Miss Begotten is one of my pet names for myself, for Southern Gothic reasons best kept to myself. Miss Begotten tries to speak plainly, but sometimes she tends to babble -- parenthetically, of course. It's never my intention to offend (and usually that's true - except on those [maybe not so] rare occasions when I mean it very friggin' much) but it sometimes happens, so if you're unusually easily offended...

Happy Feet
I wasn't thinking about shoes today until I saw a news item about shoes with adjustable heels. Apparently, there are these shoes on the market -- at $300 a pop -- with heels that convert from 3-inch to 1-inch. The fact that they're not all that attractive notwithstanding, I'd be wary of convertible heels. Suppose I was wearing them at the 3-inch setting, walking down the street in a hurry to get to my destination, and they suddenly malfunctioned and converted themselves? I'd probably pitch forward, take a dive, and land ass over heels facedown on the sidewalk. And then I'd need that $300 to pay the ER bill. I believe I'll pass on that.
The topic of shoes, however, reminded me that I recently cleaned out my closet -- and I mean really cleared it out. I tossed out an entire Hefty bag full of shoes -- shoes that I haven't worn in years and knew I'd never wear again. All they were doing was taking up valuable space. By virtue of buckling down and getting the job done, I made plenty of room for -- new shoes. And here's what I've acquired so far.
My philosophy is that a well-shod foot is a happy foot. And if I can make my feet happy, far be it from me to deny them anything.
It's warming up enough that yesterday's snow is melting. That's okay, though; it's supposed to snow again tomorrow. Just when I was beginning to think that Virginia was going tropical and skipping Winter this year, it came. It'll be all right as long as it doesn't linger. I won't complain a bit about a week or two of Winter as long as it moves out quickly and sunny skies and balmy breezes return.
Happy TGIF and have a great weekend. Stay warm!

/t.
I LOVE SHOES I LOVE SHOES I LOVE SHOES.
I am running out of room in my closet...I hate to get rid of any, because..when I do..inevitably I am looking for that very pair a month later..
I really like your shoe choices...but then again, I kinda knew I would..
Enjoy your weekend..
Missy with my luck that convertible heel would convert to one inch on only ONE shoe, and stay there, I can see it now!
OOOOOOOH I really like your new toeless shoes!
TGIFeet -- I LOVE that concept, /t.!:-) Have a wonderful weekend.
Leelee loves shoes as much as I do. LOL. I'll probably be looking for one of those pairs I tossed, but I'll be better off without them. They WERE really old, after all. Happy weekend!:)
Yeah, LW, I can see that very thing happening. That would be major suckage, wouldn't it? I like those peep-toes, too. Thanks. Have a great weekend!:)
Where's those Ruby slippers that Dorothy gave you when she got back from Australia?
I thought something may have gone wrong, since you didn't check yesterday's comments. :(
Not to worry, Charles -- my ruby slippers are safely ensconced in my closet. They'll have to pry them off my cold, dead feet.:)
Yikes! Thanks for the reminder. I totally forgot that I had unanswered comments from yesterday.:(
Wait. I'm suffering from "Late On Friday Attention Deficit Disorder". Are those the old shoes you were throwing out?
Uh Sherry.....
Uh....
I uh....
Shoes......
Feet.......
Happy...Feet..shoes
Sherry's shoes...
(BLANK)
" Doctor..? Can we help this poor man?"
'I don't know Nurse...I think he's way too far gone'!!!
Are those the old shoes you were throwing out?
Puggy -- no, dear. Those are brand spanking new ones.:)
Galen! You like my shoes? Who knew?! Calm down, though; don't want the old BP spiking. Um, what goes in that (BLANK)?:-)
Oh ....... I was afraid of that.
Oooooooo! You don't like them?:(
Serena, I laughed so hard about the convertible heel, cause that would SO totally happen to me. I need to send you the link to the clear shoes with the lights in the heels I found when I was wedding shoe-shopping!! :)
My daughter was born with the same shoe-shopper gene. I could leave her in a shoe store the entire day and she would manage to keep herself entertained. So I completely understand--if your closet is empty, it's time to fill it up!! ;)
I am so picky about shoes, I have to really, really love a pair of shoes before I buy them, but I am currently so crushing on my new sketcher ballet -type slip ons--so comfortable and SO adorable. (They even have sequins!) I am currently on the quest for a new pair of black dress shoes I can get away with in a dress or in pants. I'm thinking something fun and strappy. ;)
Wishing you happy feet always!! :)

I have a shoe fetish. Not a foot fetish, no, a shoe fetish.
ahhhhhhhhhhhhh...love those lovelies!
xx
pinks
You're a shoe girl!
I didn't like Blue Cheese Dressing when I first tried it as a pup. So maybe I just need to see you in them.
Besides, apparently per a Native American proverb, I need to walk a mile in each pair before I judge. So I will work on providing a discrete mailing address.
Meanwhile - per the immortal David Lee Roth - I shall continue to wear my own "sensible shoes", the kind that lead me back to you.
I agree with the Pug.
LOL, Snow. Shoes with lights in the heels?! I need to see those. You obviously have much more will power than I. I love them ALL (especially if they have sequins) and will buy them at first sight. Does that make me a shoe slut? Hope you find your fun, strappy, dressy black shoes.:)
I, too, have a shoe fetish, Pinks. Totally unapologetically.:-)
I am, indeed, Camille. You, too?:)
Puggy, my pup, I'm thinking the problem may lie in poor photography. Keep your sensible shoes on and start walking. All roads lead to me, though I hear you'll be here afore me if you take the high road.:-)
I see, Cyberhostage. You could do worse than to agree with The Pug.:)
Search on Shoes on YouTube. Theirs this weird video all the kids are watching on shoe shopping.
