Fever Dreams. Blech.

I had a nice, fairly lazy day planned yesterday, never mind that I had a slight, nagging headache by mid-morning. I planned to run a load of laundry, wash my hair, do my nails, read, walk the dog, catch up on my Blogroll, yada-yada. I'd been sneezing quite a bit, had a little congestion, and my head felt stuffy. It was nice and warm out, though, and I planned to make the most of it.

Then, around 2:00 P.M., just after I'd washed my hair, the headache shot up into the red zone and waves of nausea washed over me. There was nothing for it but to lie down 'til it passed, wet hair and all. The nausea finally subsided after half an hour or so, but not so the headache. I ended up sleeping, in between the chills, shivering, and sweating, 'til nearly 6:30. It was a deep sleep, too -- with a wild kaleidoscope of dreams.

By the time I got up (with a wild mass of half-dry hair), the headache was bearable and I was able to get a few things done. If you ask me, though, it was a wasted day. You know what I suspect was going on? My boss came back to work last week with a raging case of the flu that he hadn't been able to shake. He had the sneezing and coughing and wheezing, the headache and, yes, the damned nausea. I still don't feel "right" today, so I'm guessing that's what it is. As long as there's no actual heaving and hurling involved, I can stick it out.

Man, I sure hope you guys had a better Sunday than that.

Nausea usually illicits a 'Kaleidoscope' all right..
A 'Kaleidoscope of Colorful Chunks'!!!

Lets just hope and pray that the Virginia Germfest doesn't make it's way up to our neck of the woods..

Please get better soon..

O Dear! I know that must feel so terrible...

I am sorry to hear that you are not feeling well Serena! I hope you shall be fine and fit again. Please get well soon!

If you could make some tea with crushed ginger and cinnamon stick in it, it will make you feel better & chewing on poppy seeds gets rid of the worst possible headache, but I guess they might not be easily available there as they are over here...

Take care

Galen said the "chunks" word. LOL! I know you had to take a deep, deep breath for that, babe.:) I have a groupie?! Woo-hoo! I'll have to see what kind of neat stuff I can get you to do for me.:-)
xoxo

Thank you, Casdok, and thanks so much for visiting.:)

Yes, /t., those 3 words sum it up nice and succinctly.:-)

Not to worry, dear Mona. I really feel much better today. It's good to know about the ginger and cinnamon tea, though, in case there's a next time. I hope you're enjoying your travels.:)

Damn, I am sorry. I hope it is not the "Nasty Vomit Night-Sweats Bug" going around down here. Teh average for feeling it a month, usually peaking after two weeks and then slowly leaving your system with the vomit part leaving last. I almost started thinking I was preggers with all the morning sickness I have had. Rest up.

Oh hope you feel better soon!

Poor Kan! I hope you get over it soon. This is the third week my boss has had it. I was lucky enough to have only one day of the Nasty Night Vomits. I still have the Evil Night Sweats, though -- even in the daytime. Right now, I just feel more unholy tired than anything else. Feel better soon and -- if you're preggers, it's not mine.:-)

Thank you, Pinks.:)

Bummer on being sick. I'm knocking on wood right now as some sort of minor miracle has occurred and I haven't been sick this fall/winter season at all...

Sorry to hear you're not feeling well. A very hot shower that is then turned cold helps fevers.
Take care.

I'll have to have another word or two with the flu demons...they've already been warned once that Serena having the flu is not allowed. ;)
Feel better soon!

Poor sweetie! I hope you're feeling better now.

I've had influenza once and I remember those crazy freakin' dreams. I haven't missed a 'flu shot since.

Little Wing, Charles, Miz Lucy, and Lady Greeny -- thanks, guys. I feel ever so much better today. I'm really lucky in that when I get sick, it moves through fast and doesn't linger.:)
