Takin' Care Of Business

All in all, it was a very good weekend. With daytime temps in the low 70s and blanket weather at night, I couldn't have asked for better weather. I had busy time and down time, close and special friend time, goofing off time, some reading time, and some TV and online time. Today, temps will climb back to above normal (low 80s), but who can complain about that?

I found the proper Vista drivers yesterday to (ostensibly) power my new wireless modem and downloaded them. Did they work? Why, hell no! It's Vista. I didn't expect them to. I can still use the card on that computer; just not the way it works on the other computer.

Because of the addition of a couple of new pieces of furniture with drawers, I was able to get all of the clutter in my bedroom put away. It looks so much better! And with neater surroundings and my Feng Shui assuaged, it just feels better.

I got caught up on my "duty" telephone calls last evening. I don't know why everybody doesn't have e-mail.

I've been looking for a while for the perfect leather jacket, and hadn't seen a thing I liked. Then I got a catalog in the mail Saturday and there it was -- the jacket. I ordered it yesterday. It looks like this:

My house is getting new siding, and the siding guys were supposed to show up at 8:00 this morning. They finally arrived just as I was leaving for work. I see a (predictable) trend starting here. Hopefully, they'll be done by the end of the week. Personally, I thought the house looked fine the way it was, but it wasn't my decision. If that much money was going to be spent, I'd have preferred spending it on new hardwood floors -- or upgrading the plumbing.

I went to put on my favorite watch this morning and discovered that it had died. I wish I knew why I am anathema to watch batteries. I have one wind-up watch that still works. I might as well just wear it until it, too, dies.

So far, work isn't all that crazy today. Who knows, maybe the whole week will be as good as the weekend was.

What Your Halloween Habits Say About You

A bit of an introvert, you like the special occasions just as much as everyone else. You just have your own unique way of celebrating Halloween.

No one quite understands you, but everyone also sort of worships you. And that's exactly how you like it.

Your inner child is full of wonder and very sweet.

You truly fear the dark side of humanity. You are a true misanthrope.

You're prone to be quite emotional and over dramatic. Deep down, you enjoy being scared out of your mind... even if you don't admit it.

You are picky and high maintenance. If you wear a Halloween costume, it's only when you really feel like it. And it has to be perfect.

Nice jacket.

***What Your Halloween Habits Say About You***

The scariest thing on Halloween is you! You definitely don't want any kids in costumes crossing your path - and you're willing to scare away any who do.

You definitely think of yourself as someone who has a dark side. And part of having that dark side means not showing it.

Your inner child is full of wonder and very sweet.

You fear those closest to you finding out who you really are. You dread people discovering your secrets.

contractors have their own time zone CST(contractors standard time) and a different work day, arrive late, leave early..what a life.:)
Glad you had a nice weekend, I love fall.

If those are proper Vista drivers, then why don't they work? Oh, that's by design, my bad.

I fear that your perfect leather jacket may not be the perfect leather jacket for you, just because that's how it works. You get it in your head that its perfect, then reality sets in when you open the box (Pandora bought from the same retailer.)

That's funny about the contractors there, since here they start extra early so as not to miss waking someone up.

Thanks, December. I will try to get a pic.

And thank you, Roxan. I see the quiz pegs you as picky and high maintenance. Like me. LOL.:)

Yep, TC, I think you're right about contractors' time. LOL. I love fall, too.:)

I don't know why they don't work, Charles. Either it actually is by design, Vista is just evil, or I didn't install them right.

I do know about the Pandora factor, but I'll just have to take my chances -- and wear it anyway even if it doesn't meet my expectations.

Yeah, the contractors will probably be here at 7:00 in the A.M. LOL.:)

That's a nice jacket. If you don't need the model that comes with it, could you forward her my way?

She doesn't do a thing for me, VE, so sure, I'll send her to you.:-)

Me cannot purchase many things online. Me just has to feel them, see them and in the case of leather jackets taste them before me can lay me drachmas on the counter top.

It's Bob to STOMP.

I do a lot of online shopping and it usually turns out okay. It IS a lot more fun to see, feel, and smell what you're buying, though.:)

Oooh, the jacket is gorgeous. Very sexy and slinky. Take a picture when you get it. It is perfect.

I contacted a contractor 5 years ago to redo my bathroom. He gave me an estimate. I am just now getting around to recontacting him. Fortunately, he thinks it's funny. I am worse than the contractors. He was over here 2 months ago measuring. In the meantime, Hubbs and I bought a vanity, sink, shower dials and picked out tile. The contractor called this morning and said he hadn't forgotten about us. He has just been busy. I had to ask him 3 times who he was. He thought I was joking. I'm sure he'll show up sometime. Hopefully. Soon. The sink is cracked and leaking into a bucket.

Oh, Lord, CD, sounds like there could be another tale of Contractor Hell in the making. You're going to need to reopen your blog to keep us posted. Good luck!
