Pic of the Day

I'm not entirely certain what this is -- guinea pig? -- but it's kind of cute.

Baby porcupine was my first thought, too. But then, I've never seen one close up so I wasn't really sure. It sort of reminded me of the few guinea pigs I've seen, so I thought -- hmmmm. Whatever it is, it is cute, though.

Thank you for that, Steve. I had no idea. So now we know what hedgehogs look like. Are they wild, or domesticated pets like hamsters and guinea pigs?

Aw, I hope your little hedgehog didn't get run over. I wish I had them living in my back yard; they really are cute. Alas, all I have are squirrels and birds and the occasional possum. Oh, and I guess there must be some groundhogs out there. I opened the front door one morning and a fat little groundhog turned tail and waddled his way down the steps.

Did you catch the fact that I used Sherry instead of serena on my last post?

I noticed that, Steve. I'll answer to Serena, Sherry, or Ma'am. Oh, and Your Highness works sometimes. LOL.

I thought it was a porcupine

It looks like a hedgehog to me too. Do you not have hedgehogs in America?

We have a swimming pool and when we put the night cover on , we have to lean a piece of wood or foam or something to make a ramp onto the edge for hedgehogs. They're attracted by the water but once on the cover can drown if there's not an escape route.

I have a busy evening but will try to read the rest of your posts later.

I really like the clock on the side of your page. It helps to know what time it is where you are.

It does, indeed, appear to be a hedgehog. I'm sure we probably have them here. I just don't believe I've ever seen one. Shoot, I'd never seen a chipmunk up close and personal 'til I rescued one several months ago.

I'm glad the clock is handy for you, Liz. I always like to know what time it is in other places where I'm communicating with someone. As best I can tell, it's about five hours later there than here.

What ever it is, I bet it tastes good with bbq sauce!

Rex, Rex... Why am I not surprised that you want to pour BBQ sauce on my wildlife? LOL.

Yes, that's right, Serena, we're excatly five hours ahead of you.
