I tried this advice at work today. Then I met with the H.R. lady.

You're welcome, Marion. SJ's in a contemplative mood.:)
xox

And Pugsley, did the H.R. lady concur that you're a diamond in the rough?;)

She did say I was abrasive and made it rough for her to get through the day. She also needled, saying repeated complaints against me were like a broken record. So maybe I'm an industrial diamond.

Sounds to me like your H.R. lady flunked sensitivity training, Pugsley. I'll bet her engagement ring was industrial grade and she was jealous.;)

I bet you're right. She couldn't help but notice that I have no flaws and tend to sparkle.

Serena said...

Well, of course I'm right. Girls adore sparkly, flawless stuff, you know. Why, I could put you on a nice platinum chain and wear you around my neck.;)

Thank you for mentioning "neck" without including "millstone around my" or "pain in the".

You too are MY gem. So I'm changing your name to Ruby (if it reminds me too much of a Kenny Rogers song, then I reserve the right to change it again).

Hmmm. Being a Ruby might be kind of cool, Pugsley. Just don't turn me into a Peridot or something when Kenny starts coming around.;)

It's a deal.

I have just one condition.

Ruby, don't take your Pug to town.

Serena said...

Deal, Pugsley. I prefer to keep my Pug at home, anyway; too much trouble to get into in town. I try to avoid tangling with the dog catcher.;)
