Miss Begotten is one of my pet names for myself, for Southern Gothic reasons best kept to myself. Miss Begotten tries to speak plainly, but sometimes she tends to babble -- parenthetically, of course. It's never my intention to offend (and usually that's true - except on those [maybe not so] rare occasions when I mean it very friggin' much) but it sometimes happens, so if you're unusually easily offended...

Rain, Sweet Rain
I actually can stand the rain. I awoke to rain yesterday morning, and it rained all day and all last night. And it's still raining. It sounds wonderful, smells delicious, and feels cool and refreshing. We desperately needed it, too. We've been in a drought here all summer. There's some kind of point system for charting drought conditions, and last week we were pegged as only 100 points below desert status. That's pretty scary for the middle of Virginia.

Serena...
You are an Oasis, in a Desert of Dispair. An Island of Joy, in a Sea of Dischord!
I enjoyed our 2 days of rain from Tropical Storm Lee. We had a few big limbs down, but nothing serious. And today is like a real Fall day....a tease, I'm sure, but it's nice all the same. xo
I have no idea what you just said, Mr. G, but thanks!
It's STILL raining here, Marion. No wind, though, except for some tornadoes 100 miles or so to our west. Today felt like Fall, too, at 61 or 62 degrees. What a difference!:)
One of my absolute favorite tunes. Love the version that was in the old rock movie, "The Commitments".
Unlike much of the south, we have rain each and every day. If a day has passed since mid-June without rain, I really can't remember it.
Wish I could share the wealth.
Oh, and you are kinda Oasis-y.
I don't know if I could cope with rain every day, Quid. I'm sure you Floridians are used to it, though, and pay it no mind. I never thought of myself as oasis-y. Interesting!:)
