Hot!

I'm talking about heat today. There are different kinds of heat, like body heat, hot chicks (and hot guys), or getting hot under the collar. I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about the ungodly temperatures thermometers all over town are recording. Sometimes I wish for the fires of hell to descend on people who've had the bad manners to offend me, but I don't want it coming down on my head. This sticky, suffocating heat is just awful. Luckily, I don't have to be out in it much -- except to walk the dog 3 times a day. She's been hurrying it up a little bit. I don't think she likes heat much, either.

So, we have yet another week of this humongous heat in store -- while at work, they keep it so cold that we're wearing long sleeves and sweaters. It's disconcerting to say the least. It's a shock to the system to walk out of a refrigerator into hell. And rather shocking that guys who are ostensibly counting pennies these days would be willing to pay the electric bill for this.
