Ho-Hump

I'm not having a really great week. We used to have a staff of four. For the past ten months, we've been reduced to a staff of three. This week, there are only two of us, and we're having to wear all the hats -- receptionist, phone answerer, message taker, peacemaker, mail runner, typist, bill payer, errand person, babysitter to the Senile One, scheduler, etc., etc. And this is in addition to our regular caseloads, which are expected to proceed in a timely fashion. Yeah, it's not that great a week.

But it is Wednesday. Have a Happy Hump Day!

I bet you'd look HOT in a baseball cap with a bright red ponytail hanging out the back...

I don't really like baseball caps on women, GM. Maybe a ponytail and a cute sun hat. In any event, I'll be damn glad when the secretary/receptionist gets back.

I would dearly love to be kidnapped, Miss Snow. And I would bodily kill anybody who tried to pay the ransom and get me back. I used to bring treats into the office for everyone, but I stopped when nobody reciprocated. That's how charming this bunch is.:)

Rough week. The problem when businesses cut back (and yours cut back by 25%) is that the workload isn't cut back. That leaves the remaining staff ACUTELY busy, and basically nuts when one is on vacation.

You'd have a good week with me. VP is onh vacation. She is really a lovely person, but kind of old school. With her gone for the week, we can eat lunch in our offices/cubes and not worry if we don't have our doors shut when taking a business phone call. But despite those quirks, she's really made a good place to work.

Still, I write this on Friday, and, well, TGIF!

Yep, definitely rough, Quid. And I'm not sure next week is going to be much better. The secretary was out due to a death in the family. The other paralegal announced yesterday that a family member out of state was dying and she'd be out at least Monday. So, I guess it'll be just two of us again for at least part of next week.:(
