Serena's Big Adventure

profile editor

Well, I'm going out today for the first time since my accident. I'm getting chauffeured to the grocery store and, hopefully, it won't be a big deal. It shouldn't be too busy early on a Monday, so there should be less chance of getting jostled.

On a less positive note, I got a letter from the Workers Comp carrier Saturday saying that my claim "doesn't qualify as compensable." Bullshit! I plan to call my boss -- or perhaps erstwhile boss by now -- this afternoon and try to get some direction here. If he offers no assistance, I'll be making some calls to line up a Workers Comp attorney. In my opinion, it's just wrong to deny a claim for a serious injury that occurred on my employer's premises in the course of my duties. It's not like I was running wild up and down the stairs in stiletto heels while drunk. Geez. The damned staircase is laid out weird and is tricky. My boss said that himself.

Whatever you guys are up to today, have a Marvelous Monday!

Oh, girl, get that attorney asap. Those bastards are WRONG! You were hurt while at work. Period! I wish you lived in Louisiana because I know the cutest, smartest, BEST WC attorney ever. (Tee-Hee). He's my nephew's best friend and he's a TIGER in court. You GET THAT ATTY NOW! Do not pass GO, collect that $$$$.

WC is the biggest clusterf**k EVER and it's a sad shame that a person has to fight for their rights like this. But be SURE the atty does lots of WC. Their laws are just plain weird. You know I'm speaking from experience here. Good luck on the outing and don't push yourself!! Sending love and hugs. (PS: You do know you can order lots of household necessities on Amazon now?)

Get well soon, so - you guessed it - you can run wild up and down MY stairs in stiletto heels while drunk.

Well, it went very well, Galen!;)

Don't worry, Marion, I'm going to take care of business. I hate it that I'm missing out on your cutest, smartest, best WC attorney. I do order a lot of stuff online, but I needed to go to the store for bread and milk and eggs and such. It wasn't bad at all, and I'm sure it did me good to get out.:)

For your sake, Pugsley, I'll do it. You'll need to provide a safety harness, though.:)

There is no work comp injury that requires more than one doctor's visit where you shouldn't get an attorney.

Good luck.
