I know my karma is not currently in a state of grace. That's a given. We all know that. It's actually pretty crappy, as evidenced by the dog having diarrhea yesterday. But there could be a teensy reprieve on the horizon.
SG called me last night to tell me how it went when she gave her Boss Lady notice yesterday. She said the witch actually took it pretty well, but she did say she was just going to have to close her office after BL's attempts to entice SG to stay fell on deaf ears. To SG's credit, she refused to tell BL where her new job was. Well, hell, BL should have closed out her practice six months ago. Everybody in town knows that. In any event, SG said they're going to talk more about it tomorrow. I, ever tactful, of course, asked SG what she would do if BL offered to sell her the house she's renting from BL at a reduced price and double her salary. Would she stay with BL then? And SG said she just didn't know. But I know! Damn straight SG would hop right on that!
I had to head off any possibility of that not happening at the pass, of course, so I got out my New Orleans souvenir Voodoo doll last night and jabbed pins in the damn thing 'til I thought I heard it squeal. And I made it promise me that BL will promise SG the moon and SG will fall for it. And then I had a snort of rum. Ha! That'll show 'em I mean business.
Okay, I'm composed now. So -- have a Terrific Tuesday! And if you want to join me in a toast to the redemption of my karma, I'm happy to recommend Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum. It's great with Coke Zero.
P.S. If this doesn't work, the next pin sticks will be toward a house falling on SG and a mangy, ugly dog running off with her shoes sticking out from under it. Sooner or later, the law of averages has to kick in, don't you think?
