The Week's Best E-Mail

Whew, it's another hot one today. It probably won't reach yesterday's 91, but it's plenty hot enough. This is crazy for early April. Whoever pissed off Mother Nature, please, go placate her. Bring gifts. Prostrate yourself at her feet. Throw yourself into a volcano if you have to. Whatever she demands, give it to her! Do whatever you have to do. Just make her happy. Otherwise, it's going to be a long, hot Summer.

Roxan gets the thanks for today's favorite e-mail forward. Enjoy, and have a terrific Wednesday. Oh, and Happy Hump Day!

The Back Pew

There was a preacher whose wife was expecting a baby so he went before the congregation and asked for a raise. After much discussion, they passed rule that whenever the preacher's family expanded, so would his paycheck. After 6 children, this started to get expensive and the congregation decided to hold another meeting to discuss the preacher's salary. There was much yelling and bickering about how much the clergyman's additional children were costing the church. Finally, the preacher got up and spoke to the crowd. "Children are a gift from God," he said.

Silence fell on the congregation.

On the back pew, a little old lady stood up and in her frail voice said, "Rain is also a gift from God, but when we get too much of it, we wear rubbers."

And the congregation said, "Amen."

And a Happy Hump Day to YOU, /t., dear.:)

It IS cooler in here today, Galen. They got an AC into my window. It's an ancient POS relic with the settings written on it in Magic Marker, but at least it's putting out cool air.:)
