There was neither hair nor cell nor nail left of him and it was never known for certain in the land what ever became of Dedman the Caddish Warlock.
Without so much as a drop of his black blood to prove his demise, there was nothing to bury -- or burn -- and no funeral.
It was assumed that an incensed member of his widespread stable of wives and concubines had dispensed with him in a sudden and violent fit of jealousy, but nothing could ever be proved. And Haggis continued on, lonely and bored with her wretched existence. It was not long before she began to plot and scheme...
